Its the first time I have ever voted for a eurovision song and I voted for the turkey, like all my friends. It has become a real joke with all the poltical voting that maybe we might have a chance at winning it. It really shows what Ireland thinks of the Eurovision since it has become very big. The best songs don’t win any more. Well done…[Read more]

yeah, toasted chees and ham sandwiches with mayo. This particular pub is famous for them. They’ll even do one for you at 11pm if you’re nice.

I met my DH over a toasted sandwich in a pub in Dublin 3 days before Xmas in 2000. We had both just finished work late and both ordered a toasted sandwich. We just happened to be sitting beside each other waiting for people to arrive and just started talking to each other. We just talked for about a half an hour. I was with someone else at the…[Read more]

I want to second evreything already said. I was on maternity leave when MT started and it was a great way to meet other mums. Being new to Drogheda I didn’t know many people and it was great going to the coffee mornings. Joining the bookclub through MT was also an added bonus. I don’t get much time to post but I do try to scan it a couple of…[Read more]

I bought my in Monsoon during the January sales in 2005 for €90. I wore red for my wedding. I looked at all the shops during the winter months. Tried them all on and waited until the sale. I got exactly what I wanted.

I had my first appointment at 16 weeks and my scan at week 20. That was in 2006. I did think it was a long time to wait but it was the earliest appointment I could get at the time.

I think you have hit the nail on the head taylor when you talk about taking coke over ten years ago. People who take it don’t care about the consequences when they are with their friends, and we are talking of mainly young people who are working and have more earning power than any other previous young generation. A person in their early 20s with…[Read more]

Very sad for such a beautiful girl. There are so many pressures on young people today. With everything so readily available the temptation is so great. Parenting isn’t easy these days with all these added pressures but we can only doour best. As Taylor said hopefully others will learn from this.

My 11 month old only eats savoury foods and vegetables. Just doesn’t eat fruit or anything sweet. She eats all vegetables. If you gave her a bowl of spinach she would devour it. I’ve managed to get her to eat apple by mixing it with parsnip. I tried some of the Plum range of veg and she liked their apple and parsnip mix. As she gets older I…[Read more]

I have finished the book. Alot of it is common sense. It makes you more aware of your thoughts and how you project your self to others. I have taken on board many of the things in the book and I would say that since I started reading the book I have been more positive. I the beginning it does take alot of effort to get into tis positivity but…[Read more]

The next book is non-fiction: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Its different to what we have been reading but is probably a good book to read for Xmas and the new year when we want to make changes to our lives. I have been reading it since last Thursday and taking on board some of the things in the book. Will I remain a sceptic by the time we meet…[Read more]

I remember living in London in the 1990s and there were so many Irish who didn’t make it home for Xmas, especially retired pensioners who hadn’t been back to Ireland in 40 or 50 years. Many of them lived alone and had no one to share the festive season with. It was just a normal day for many of them. They gave so much to Ireland, sending back…[Read more]
