I was at the Worl of Food festival in Marlay Park (rathfarnham/ dundrum) last weekend and they are advertising a Halloween party with a fancy dress parade, scary movies (for the kids i presume) and fireworks, etc. Its on the 25th from 2pm, its not that long of a drive any more with the M50 upgrades, you could be there in about 40mins. I’ll be…[Read more]

  • Libby are you on Slendex or Reductil??? Where can you get the reductil? I am classed as obese too, i’m a size 18, even after loosing a tonne weight (almost literally) and feel like I deserve a little help at this stage. I was on the CLA tablets – and they worked fine along with exercise, I lost half a stone but have put it back on since.

  • DH and I (try to) do a DIY hot stone massage on occasion – it can be quite nice – so I’d love to know where you’redoing this course to learn to do it properly and also the flower remedy course – I got a remedy for mood swings – and found it great!

  • Hey girls – just wondering what toy stores are £ for € in newry? Would go up often enough for bits and pieces but was thinking of picking up a Wii console ahead of the x-mass rush, or at least of telling santa where he can get it cheap!!!!

  • Hey, sorry I missed this, how did it go? I was actually in Kerry squeezing the last out of the holidays before the kiddies started back at school.

  • Sainsburys definitely do and Superquinn dundalk would aswell, they’ll even write the childs name on it. They dont be very big though, so you might be better off having it made for a larger party.

I hear ya all! Actually got the girls out for a walk down town yesterday while we had a break in the rain, just got home in time for the skies to open up! Its seriously depressing – plus cannot hang the washing out! My tumple dryer is going to collapse with exhaustion and I hate using them as it is for ECO reasons but what can ya do when the airer…[Read more]

  • Well why not try Dundalk in the meantime then? You could save yourself that big trip to finglas. Seoda have lovely stuff – big names like Sanderson and Designers guild, and the girls there know what they’re doing. Head into dundalk from the motorway, past Xerox, on through the lights, past the new hotel, on past the retail park with harvey…[Read more]

  • I’ll try make it down. sounds great! Might bring the mammy too!

  • Well if Zivago is the place you were originally planning to go to (around finglas/ M50) then you’ll get the lot there. Watch out over the next couple of days though that area is experiencing serious flooding!!!

  • You can take a peek at Laura ashleys webiste, only you cant clearly see the pattern on some of the examples. Here’s the link.

Bring some samples of the paint/ paper/ bed-linen that you plan to use with you to the shops so you can match it up nicely.

Have you got the headboard already…[Read more]

  • There’s Murtaghs in the Fair Green too. What sort of stuff ate you looking for? If your heading for Finglas you could go on to blanch where there’s Hickeys Home Focus and Laura Ashleys.

  • I’d look for a lubricant of some kind, like a wax or an oil, and would try the furniture shops – or auto shops, when I worked in Clerys there was always a specialist one for sale, but I cant for the life of me remember the name of it. It was in a cream jar with traditional style labelling. They had it at the Greener Ireland show in the RDS too.…[Read more]

  • If you dont find what you’re looking for in Tullys, try Seoda in the Coes Rd, Dundalk, there are some others in Dundalk too, or if that fails come to Ardee to Tassel Curtain design for a wide range of big names.

    Hi There,

I run a short Interior Design course in Drogheda and cover De-Cluttering, but here’s a short version of what you’d learn. Its an article I wrote for Mumstown in Spring and for the Mothers’s Day Event in Scotch Hall. Most of the info on websites and in books is the same rehashed – but valuable advice. If you would like the full…[Read more]

  • Hey Libby – I’m off for a girle spa weekend to the Hillgrove hotel in monaghan this weekend – but they have a pool and a creche so might be worth a look. Monaghan has a lovely lake in castle blaney Lough Muckno that we take the kids to a fair bit, and its a nice town in itself, only about an hour away.

  • EJ replied to the topic Shoe fetish anyone? in the forum Louth Chat 15 years, 9 months ago

Ha Ha – mine say Hee Hiles too! Funny!

I love my shoes, for the same reason as Pink – coz they fit! But I’d have maybe 20 pairs stuffed in the dedicated shoe cupboard.

I bought a lovely pair of gold wedges yesterday for a wedding, and then a gold bag to match – went to put them away only to discover 3 others in the cupboard, very similar in…[Read more]

  • I did this course before with Marie McStay – its very good, and there are aspects of the course that you can apply to different things in your life at different times – such as change management – taking ‘me time’, – establishing goals, etc. I’d really reccommend it!
