Honestly, I think people who go to such extremes over small things must lead lives far less busy than mine. If there’s an issue, surely a quick (firm but friendly) word over the fence would sort it out….
Keep a written note of any contact with neighbours & be sweet as pie every time you see them. That will really annoy them & there won’t be a…[Read more]

pookie2 replied to the topic Uniforms – any thoughts? in the forum Education 10 years, 8 months ago
Agreed – crests do seem to up the cost significantly & I wonder if there is any need for them. And guess what? My kids’ school is CHANGING THEIR CREST next year just before my third starts. Why??? Well, they’d better be prepared to see the old crest for quite some time as I won’t be throwing out any of those jumpers if they are still in good…[Read more]

Now, how one is sitting on the side of the pool more discreet? Or should she walk away from her toddler – who, if anything like mine, would have thrown a fit, and followed me roaring & screaming? (Not everyone has a partner on hand to save the day)
I can just picture me in the pool with two happily playing pre-schoolers & a hungry baby. What…[Read more]

A bit of common sense in required by all.
In that situation, she was multitasking, minding a toddler & feeding a baby. I’d have thought that sitting in the baby pool would probably be the most discreet place to do it, presuming she wasn’t flaunting it.
As for it not being something for kids to see… ah, seriously? Will any four year old be…[Read more]

pookie2 replied to the topic Cost of Debs? Any thoughts on it? in the forum Weddings, Christenings, Communions, Confirmations etc 10 years, 8 months ago
Someone needs to say ‘get real’ (easy for me, I don’t have teenagers – YET)
Honestly, I know girls who spent more on their debs that I spent on my wedding (reception excluded). They spent more on the dress, car, hair, make-up than I did for me & my bridesmaid combined. And that’s not including the hotel, tickets for two etc etc. That’s just…[Read more]

No, she still ‘the’ baby!
Mine only stopped being babies when I arrived home from the hospital with the next one – looks like DS4 will be my baby forever.
Reminds me, my mum’s aunt was the youngest in her family & the only girl & her name became ‘Baby’ – seriously. It is even on her gravestone, I believe. She was always Aunty Baby…. And then…[Read more]

His finger seems to be healing nicely. My neighbour is a nurse & re-dressed it today. OLOL said to leave it unchanged until next Fri, but there was no way the bandage would last 9 days on my wee man. The muck on it after 4 days. Yeuck!
