No harm asking! Know you said in swop shop sometime recently that you’d delivered a load to VdP, so was just chancing my arm.

Will keep eye out for you about that quilt.
Now, about that poor homeless cot 😆 …. Has it a new home lined up? I’m only asking coz ye might be up here on Thurs & I could offer ye refreshments & a guided tour of Stephenstown Pond afterwards (Think you were asking about it at some stage????)
No harm being cheeky – happy to donate towards…

pookie2 replied to the topic LIDL Toujours Nappies – surprisingly good! in the forum Spot the Bargain 11 years, 7 months ago
Lidl Size 3 are great on babies, HMM. Use them all the time on baby, now 5 months. Have reusable ones (used with others – but just too busy at the minute)
Used on DS3 as well. Found great (not so impressed with the pull ups). Alas, they don’t do the nappies in a size 6 – and my fella is a bruiser -, so am using Pampers at the minute (bought a box…[Read more]

Yeuck.
Had horrible experience of this about ten years ago. Couldn’t eat or sleep, had migraines & nightmares, lost weight, came out in rashes, had runs …. and I couldn’t go to my boss, coz he was the bully. I got no redress even when I lodged an official complaint. Instead, he accused me of misuse of funds (totally bogus)… Only stopped when…[Read more]

Re MLU – I was barred from MLU as well – coz at 35 / 37 / 39 / 41, I was too OLD!
I ended up having 4 vaginal deliveries & no complications. Labours of 12, 5 and 3.5 & 3.5 hours. Average size babies. Really, if it wasn’t for my date of birth I would have been an ideal candidate….

Just a quick summary of some of the things we got up to over the last couple of days. As my group is all young kids we tend to go, see, leave fairly quickly to avoid boredom.
Thanks for vouchers to Reptile Zoo in Funtasia, Sabbi. Went with another mum & 5 kids (2 under 3were free, vouchers paid for other 3 kids). It was E10 for the 7 of us in…[Read more]

Am convinced my bro & his wife were told DD2 was a boy – I’ve never heard such surprize in my bro’s voice!
I too have only boys, lemonbee, & never asked – although my gut always said it was a boy. The number of people who presumed that I wanted a DS4 to be a girl was weird. As long as your baby is healthy that is the main thing and boys are fab…[Read more]

Good God DS1 v DS2 &DS2 v DS3, at times it never seems to end & at others they play as good as gold. Tears this morning over bikes, fights, size of bread rolls, length of time in loo, toys, computer…. But just good healthy sibling rivalry. We will survive!

Watched it on web (God, there I times I hate my ridiculously slow rural broadband). Love the pink, the hair & the eyebrows (I had plenty of time to study them as computer froze & froze again)! You looked way better than yon other gal….

I don’t doubt that you know what is ahead of your daughter. You’re a woman after all!
But I’m glad you’re more informed than I was a couple of years ago, Yvonne. I nearly dropped when they told me at a training course that a girl was more likely to start periods at 8 than 13! Back in my day 5th class was when the topic was broached & 11 to 13…[Read more]

I understand that, but you’d be surprized what they’ll pick up from school mates – often incorrectly.
Often kids (boys in particular) don’t want all the gorey details – and if they do I’m inclined to do invoke God (ie How did the baby get in there? Holy God).
I try to keep it simple & to the point: Milk sometimes comes out of a mum’s boobs,…[Read more]

As I said, I never did it in a pool myself – but I think the appropriateness would very much depend on the circumstances… I think I’d just feel a bit too naked….
Likewise with DS1 – I had lots of problems with milk supply due mostly to undiagnosed post-natal depression & I couldn’t express for love or money, & I supplemented him with bottles…[Read more]

I’ve never fed in a pool either. My nerves wouldn’t take it – especially as I’m usually on my own (the joys of DH working overseas). I’d be petrified that one of them would drown…
I’m told you can get special swimsuits with t-shirt type tops that are supposed to be as discreet as the ones I wear ie nothing visible when the baby is feeding, but…[Read more]

pookie2 replied to the topic Uniforms – any thoughts? in the forum Education 11 years, 8 months ago
Yeah, I understand exactly where you are coming from.
One reason that some schools insist on the two (uniform & tracksuit) is a hygiene one. There are situations where the same sweaty tracksuit would be worn every day – & believe me by the time kids (especially boy kids) are in second level, that can be a major issue…. But, apart from that, I…[Read more]
