Its a mass but not a holy kind of mass if you know what I mean – its more about being in a room with other people who have suffered a loss and remembering our babies. There is music and also, tea and coffee afterwards. I remember the first time we went, we felt awkward going in but soon realised it was actually a nice way to honour our babies…[Read more]

Each year in November the miscarriage association host a non-denominational remembrance mass. Anyone who has been through a miscarriage is welcome, whether you are religious or not doesn’t matter.
It’s a beautiful, poignant service with lovely music and tea and biscuits after. The thing is, everyone in the room is dealing with the pain and loss…[Read more]

Oh Ccboobie, I am so sorry for your loss. You are so right when you say that everyone’s experience is different and I can understand why you would feel angry and upset at anyone assuming they had the same experience as you and your husband. Your trauma was awful and you are entitled to grieve for your baby. And not just your baby but all the hopes…[Read more]

I have to keep thinking that its not personal to the insurance company. To them, its about not paying out for accidents and its not like they are trying to deliberately upset me, they are just mean. So, I’ve got to try not let it get to me.

hoping it will be settled soon. I have thought about dropping it but I know I did nothing wrong and I would…[Read more]

I have a really good solicitor now and she is helping me. Its ironic I deliberately did not get a solicitor involved for a long time because I didn’t think I would need to. The insurance company admitted liability and I had doctors notes for the few weeks I was off and a letter confirming my average income from my accountant and I thought that…[Read more]

This nightmare feels like it will never end. Last night I just cried my eyes out, I’m not sure I can take much more of this.

Almost 11 months ago a woman crashed into the side of my car, while I was waiting in traffic for the lights to turn. She hit me so hard, the impact broke my air bag reel and left me with quite a stiff & sore neck. She…[Read more]

Go see your GP, it can’t hurt to talk to someone. don’t be nervous or embarrassed, we all feel down sometimes. please talk to someone close to you that you trust and let it all off your chest, it will help.

    a problem shared is a problem halved….

please let us know how you are.

  • It just seems so stupid to me. they gave us a ‘report’ stating our daughter really very badly needs support and learning aids but they say she did not score highly enough to get any help from them.

its just so frustrating and annoying. I am literally raging about it.

She is a great sleeper, always was ever since she was a baby. She is the…[Read more]

  • Our daughter has been categorised as Dyslexic and while its upsetting, its also kind of a relief because it explains the tears, tantrums and massive stress she (and we) have had to deal with over her school work and especially homework, over the past few years.

She has had brilliant support from her school but the Department of Education have…[Read more]

After a helluva palaver about missing shoes (he was looking for ages but I found them almost immediately obvs!) our #stroppyteen is finally gone to do his Junior Cert exams. I feel strangely emotional now, thinking about him sitting down to his #JuniorCert2019 English paper. We are worried & nervous for him. Though he seemed ok heading…[Read more]

I asked my 16yr old son for a hug today and he (rolled his eyes ) and replied that if he gave me one now, then I might expect more hugs in the future and he wouldn’t want to build my hopes up.

So, he decided it’s best not to give his poor Mammy any hugs at all!

What happened to the little guy who used to hug me everyday and was so affectionate…[Read more]

Our daughter is in am under 8’s #GAA team and the coaches often refer to the girls as Warriors – especially before a match to boost their confidence! But a parent has made an official complaint about this to the club and the coaches have been told not to call the girls warriors anymore.

Is this a step too far?? Would this happen in a boys team??

I just swept and washed the area down as no-one came back to clean up.

Its funny, I saw a big sign today saying Meath County Council is underfunded but when they waste money like this, why should they be given more money???

This week Meath County Council sent ‘Contractors’ to do some completely unnecessary work on the driveway outside our house. The contractors explained that because there was a small patch of path in the drive that was a different colour from the rest of the pat, Meath County Council declared it needed to be dug up and re-cemented in one colour. The…[Read more]

Nope, he’s not himself at all

He is going dolally we think. He is normally a cheerful man, he stops and talks to everyone on the street and everyone knows him because he used to be a postman but in the past few weeks, he thinks people are either blanking him or talking about him behind his back,

he heard someone making a joke about him in a bar…[Read more]

Yesterday evening I got a piercing headache on one side of my head. I had to lay down because the pain was so awful, plus I felt dizzy and sick and the light was hurting me.

I broke in to a full body sweat, I literally had to towel the sweat off of me, it was running down my face but I had chills down my body. I felt sick and dizzy and then I…[Read more]

Its so difficult to know what to do about things like this – maybe call ISPCA?

  • Sabbi replied to the topic in the forum Sabbi 5 years, 1 month ago

He’s doing ok. He had an ‘episode’ like a minor heart attack but he’s doing ok. He’s home and resting and is on meds to keep his heart from going too fast. He has a spray for under his tongue if he feels bad again and if that doesn’t work – back to A&E

He looked very ill last week but every day he is looking a little bit better.

    fingers crossed…[Read more]

  • has anyone seen Captain Marvel yet? I am wondering if its appropriate for my 11 and 7 year olds to see in cinema?

My Dad had to go to A&E yesterday, he has a stent in his heart and his blood pressure was very high so his doctor sent him straight in away because he was worried about his heart. he has had a heart attack before so he has to be careful.

I brought him in at 11.30pm and at 10pm last night, he was still sitting in the waiting area. They eventually…[Read more]
