That’s really lovely Margo1, she’ll be delighted. I had a necklace made there 2 years ago with my children’s handprints in silver, and I love it.

Congratulations Maria!
That must have been quite scary but you and your DH sound like you handled it brilliantly.
Delighted for you – I had a new DS too, on the 2nd Feb – he was 5 weeks yesterday. Very short labour (3rd baby) but I just about managed to get to OLOL, so I can only imagine how you felt.
That’s hilarious about your MIL – what a…[Read more] -
LouthMam replied to the topic Pancake Tuesday – what are you putting in yours?? in the forum National Chat 12 years, 2 months ago
I couldn’t wait and we had pancakes on Saturday. I’ll do them again tomorrow though – we’ll skip proper dinner and stuff ourselves with pancakes instead. I do:
100g (4oz) plain flour
half a pint of milk
1 egg
pinch of saltUsually make this batter x 3 the night before and leave in the fridge – the flour expands overnight.
I’ll second real…[Read more] -

Boys have willies in my house – and girls have minnies 😛
We said front bum for girls’ bits when I was a child too.
It’s such a minefield. We say the correct words too but they sound too formal sometimes coming from a small child. -
LouthMam replied to the topic anti-natal apts in louth hosp? in the forum Pregnancy & Birth 12 years, 4 months ago
Hi again Momof3&bump,
No that’s not my GP anyway. Sure just ask – at least it’s only the initial appointment you might have to pay for.
Just forgot to mention that there is no 20 week scan any more – only teaching hospitals do these now to keep their accreditation. There is a scan at the first appointment in the Louth and then other scans…[Read more] -

Congratulations on your pregnancy momof3&bump!
I’m attending The Louth on the public system for the third time in 4 years. I’m doing combined care with my GP so alternate appointments between the two.
My appointments so far have been:
GP at 5 wks to confirm pregnancy – Free (some docs charge for this initialvisit but my GPs never have)

I watched the first 20 minutes or so. Car crash tv 😀 – I really hope it never gets aired outside of Ireland – so embarrassing. It was like a cheapie version of Geordie Shore or TOWIE. Perfect TV for chilling out on a Sunday night though – no brainpower required! Next installment not on till January.

LouthMam replied to the topic Appointments in olol in the forum Pregnancy & Birth 12 years, 5 months ago
I’m expecting my 3rd baby going public in OLOL. My first appointments were at 14 wks, 15wks, and 15wks. I booked a private scan for myself at 8-10 weeks each time, just to see the baby’s heartbeat for reassurance. These cost approx €100 but are well worth it AFAIC, as the rest of your care is free.

That’s gas munchin! Yes, live crib wasn’t great but my 2 don’t get out much 😛
Re Newbridge – I was surprised at the low price – I thought it would be €20 for us too but maybe because my DS is still only 1 they charged less?
Causey Farm sounds great – I’ll save it up for when they’re a bit older. Just watching the budget here – poor 3rd b…[Read more] -

We went to see Santa at Newbridge Farm yesterday. Really enjoyed it. €13 for a 3yr old, 2yr old, and two adults. That included a visit to Santa, 2 gifts, entrance to the farm, moving crib, and feeding the reindeer.
I thought it was great value. Got there before 12, paid and were told that there were 6 ahead of us and to go wait in the w…[Read more] -
LouthMam replied to the topic 5yr old Angel costume in the forum National Chat 12 years, 5 months ago
Aw Cute. Dunnes Stores are doing nativity costumes. I saw shepherds, Mary & Joseph, angel costumes with halos etc.
Claires Accessories also have halos and wings – you could maybe get a cheap white dress or might have one from the summer? Add a little silver cardigan? -

No sign of any pics of the fireworks being turned on scole1. A few alright – there’s one of two little boys called Jake and Sam with Santa. Either of them yours? 🙂

Just saw this thread now! I didn’t realise a Mumstowner did the honours for the fireworks. We went along last Friday and had a great evening.DH went on the little Polar Express with the children and they loved the merry-go-round and fireworks.
We had never brought them to anything like that before and the excitement was unreal. Well done to…[Read more] -

Welcome Beezers!
I’m due end of Jan too – am 29 weeks today! Can’t wait to get to 30 weeks as that’s when the count down goes into single figures.
I booked in to do a 4 night ante-natal course when I was pregnant on my first. Went along on the first night, room was way too hot and stuffy and packed full of us pregnant ladies and partners and I…[Read more] -

Congratulations HMM! That’s great news.
I am 19wks today – due 27th January. Might see you down in OLOL! I went 7 days overdue on last 2 pregnancies so reckon I might go into Feb. I’m under Dr Akpan too – as I was on my last two babies – he’s nice and friendly and relaxed I found.
