Hi there! Could you define what age(s) you mean by older mums and also those who are much younger?

Oh I also read that if you eat something with good protein content in the morning, that sets you up for less hunger later in the day. Like maybe a boiled egg.

Rice cakes a good idea, Taylor!
Re your question about nuts:
I think cashews are high in fat. I’ve read that almonds are really good as they contain lots of good things and are not as high in fat as peanuts, cashews&brazils.
Macadamia is the fattiest nut – that’s good coz I don’t like them anyway.
I like peanuts so even though almonds are…[Read more] -

Hi! My son (15 and 1/2 months) has 3 to 5 poops a day. It varies too – sometimes it’s only one or two. But I’ve had many a day when he’ll have 4 or 5. 🙂 I think it’s normal, and will get less as he gets older.
Some children only poo once every day or every two days – that’s normal too. You could try not feeding him as much fruit one day and…[Read more]

Hi Sabbi, I do agree sometimes green tea, particularly strong green tea, is reminiscent of cat pee!
I got a green tea from my brother (Philippine brand) which was very mild, and I quite liked it. Otherwise I take fennel tea, which is really quite nice… AND CHECK THIS, I saw on the packet that it actually naturally dampens the appetite and…[Read more]

Hi Peanut, just thought I’d drop you a line – I don’t have much to contribute but definitely feel for you – I hope you get lots of helpful replies/suggestions! My little boy has always been a hungry one – and with him i just tried to follow cues as I didn’t have a clue what to do and didn’t feel up to following strict schedules. Fed him when…[Read more]

I’d be interested to read that letter you referred to. That would be a good thing to post.
There seem to be interesting dynamics in Ireland and in the U.K. re breastfeeding and bottle-feeding, with both ‘sides’ seeming to have to defend their position! But that’s just an observation, and, another topic.
Re breastfeeding in public, I’ve also…[Read more]

Corinne9 replied to the topic Tie holder – where to get one? in the forum National Chat 14 years, 5 months ago
my husband says he got one from Next (which turned out not that good), then he got one from the Tie Shop (a good one), then he saw one just like it later in Dunne’s. So I’d second that Dunne’s is a good place to start!

Friend of mine also went through this condition through her first and now her 2nd pregnancy. She is due soon. Nothing really helped with her except accepting it and living with it as if it’s just a normal part of life.
She said it is also worse the second time around. I feel terrible for women who experience this with their pregnancies. Talk…[Read more]

Corinne9 replied to the topic Happy Birth stories??? in the forum Pregnancy, Mums2Be, Birth, New Parents 14 years, 5 months ago
I feel my birth story was a happy one, although it was really quite difficult. My little boy was born after 9 hours of labor (counting 9 hours from when I was 3cm dilated), and he weighed 8 lb 6 oz. One thing that I didn’t expect, that I wish I’d been told more, was that labor is not called labor for nothing. That’s no reason for mums-to-be to be…[Read more]

a friend of mine got it recently. She was also in two minds about it, but decided in the end to get it. Best speak with your GP or check at the clinic at Haymarket, which is where they are offering the shots right now, I was told (at my GP’s on my last visit). All the best with your fact-finding and decision-making… C

A few months back i was at the doctor’s (a young one at that), and they asked me how my ds was sleeping. I said he wakes up several times a night. The young doctor asked me ‘Do you have a schedule?’. I answered that I have no strict routine as such. Without asking for more details the doctor raised her eyebrows as if to say There you go, there’s…[Read more]

I hope there will be more sellers this month. We went early in October and there were not so many stalls, maybe because of the weather?
