Feeling the same way myself Munchin I watched it last night and I was thinking, come on I could be reading a book. I think I have only stuck with it so far because the hubby and I were watching together.

and yesterday saw the announcement of the Carnegie Shortlist for Children’s Fiction, there are some fabulous books on the list and some I really can’t wait to read. (The age ranges given areguidelines only)

The Women’s Prize for Fiction has some great titles on the longlist announced today. I was quite surprised to see that Maggie O’Farrell was not nominated as I thought Instructions for a Heart Wave was outstanding.

Hi There,
How is it going setting up the book club I am the bookwitch that Libby 1 mentioned I have been involved with three different bookclubs in Drogheda over the years. It’s great fun, the original mumstown bookclub which I set up in 2007 is still going and there is a new bookclub now meeting evey fortnight at Esquires Drogheda every second Wednesday

Don’t forget that World Book Night for adults will be happening very soon!
Also wanted to point out that the tokens that children receive in school are not provided by schools or dept of education but by bookshops and publishers.

I know that co-ed schools are the norm in most other countries but there is not always a choice. Unless you can afford private school: Drogheda Grammar the only co-ed is St Oliver’s so there is only one.
