A lot of parents in the creche I work in have recommended that cream Munchin its called Poxclin and have seen it in a few chemists.
Bread soda in the bath supposed to help too!
There is a vaccine for chicken pox, not given as part of a programme in Ireland so you have to pay for it and for its administration. Think my doc charges € 120 total. A…[Read more]

lyn11 replied to the topic BLW – Baby Led Weaning! in the forum Newborns, Babies, Toddlers, Kids, Teens! 12 years ago
If your strict at it tho you dont give any puree or mashed foods just foods the baby will hold and eat themselves. So they dont usually start weaning onto solids til much later, when they are sitting up and more co-ordinated. L loves finger foods and seems to handle biting off and swallowing pieces well despite no teeth. Loves sticks of fruit…[Read more]

I had to do the GI diet because of pregnancy diabetes and lost a good bit of weight. Similar to unislim. You just have to substitute whites for wholegrain eg, pasta, rice and bread. Swap sweet potatoes or baby boiled potatoes for potato. Cut back on refined sugar. Drink lots of water. Eat often every 2-3 hrs by having 3 meals and 3-4 snacks. 5…[Read more]

When I heavily pregnant I popped in to Dunnes in Scotch hall to get some money from the ATM and my card got stuck in the machine. I was made to feel like it was all my fault and that I would be ruining peoples shopping because they could not take money out. When I say I was close to tears its no exaggeration, I was spoken to in a way that you…[Read more]

Cant see why a pump wouldnt be allowed, no sharp pieces, and other eletronics allowed on board. Regarding breast milk the DAA say:
"Can I bring baby food/milk through security?
Yes, baby food or food for people on special diets is exempt from the new regulations. Passengers are allowed to bring these items through the screening points in the…[Read more] -

I began to give him pureed steamed fruit and veg letting him taste lots of things. Now 3 weeks on he has baby porridge in the mornings and…[Read more]

They really were no worse than any person we have had on work experience in their first few days. Working in a creche is a different experience to caring for a child at home, and so is a false environment to set these men up in. Felt the program belittled people who work with children to be honest.

I have taught this module too. All tutors are obliged to give an assessment brief, not just a title, this should describe in more detail the expected breakdown of the topic. Did you get one of these?
If you have a child in creche or know someone who runs one etc. ask can you have a copy of their health and safety statement, this gives you a good…[Read more]

you are entitled to force majeure leave whereby your child is sick and your presence is required. 3 days in one year or 5 days in 3 years max. This is paid leave and does not affect other leave. You must however write to your employer stating the dates you were absent and pps no and request that these dates are used as force majeure leave. see…[Read more]

They are on sale on todaysdeals.ie €9 for bracelet/anklet €11 for necklace. Just ordered one for Lorcan today went for the bracelet/anklet instead of the necklace, after years of working in a creche I am wary of a child wearing anything around theirneck.
