Garda clearance can take a little while to come through Anglemum but it is obviously imperative that we have this clearance before a volunteer can start working with the ISPCC and start supporting vulnerable young people.

We normally apply for Garda clearance before training begins and hope that all the documentation is in order by the time the training is complete.

If you are interested in more information, why not come along to the ISPCC Volunteer meeting in Drogheda on March 24th 6.30pm?

That’s great Trixiebell. Could you give the office a ring just so they have an idea of the numbers attending?
    Thanks.

    Hi Taylor,
It is very flexible and the ISPCC team will do their best to match the mentor and their availability to the family needing support.
If you are interested you will get all the information needed on the 24th and you can make a decision from there.
    Take care.

Thanks for that Siobhain. I will definitely pop in for a coffee even though my Irish is very rusty. Thanks for all your feedback.

Thanks for the detailed replies. The offer of places should be coming out soon. I’ve already visited Le Cheile and Gaelscoil but am waiting for an offer for Donacarney before I schedule an appointment.

    It’s a hard one alright.
BTW I held my little man back and he did an extra year of Montessori. He’ll be 5+ starting next September and better equipped to handle school (I hope).

I’m thinking of bringing my little man (5 months) next week. He loves his bath so I’m sure he’ll enjoy it.

I was with Dr Shane Higgins. A really lovely man who listens to his expectant Mums. It cost me €2400 4 months ago.

    Hi there.
I have 3 children (how did that happen 🙂 ) 2 were born in the fabulous French healthcare system and my son was born 2 months ago in OLOL (privately with the absolutely lovely Dr Shane Higgins).
Before I attended the Lourdes I have to admit I was very concerned about hygiene and standards but I cannot fault the staff or the hospital on either of these counts. I had to stay overnight in the antenatal ward when I was 28 weeks and was treated very well and was pleasantly surprised at how clean the hospital was kept. When DDay arrived the only complaint I would have is that my husband was sent home at midnight from the antenatal ward even though I was in early labour. He did make it back for the birth thank God but it was close.
All of my friends and family thought I was crazy to give birth in OLOL but if I was to go again (big IF – ) then I wouldn’t change.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Taylor.
    Thanks for that.
All went really well thank God. I had a little boy who’s 9 weeks today. Very fast birth but well looked after at OLOL. When are you due?
