It is a catch 22. Too much expierence/ not enough expierence. Over qualified/under qualified…and so on. I know of a nursing home who are employing care staff regularly. Dont know much about them or the shifts. But I have had dealings with the place and they are very friendly and efficent.

snowdrop replied to the topic Medical treatment costs in the forum Meath Chat 12 years, 7 months ago
It is a free service for medical card holder only. For everyone else there is daily charge of up 20 euro per visit with a max paymant of 200 euro. Only know this cos I had a child with a crush trauma to his finger and had to attend the hospital for re dressing, even though I am medically trained myself and my ffriend is a public health nurse in…[Read more]

Going to book for the weekend, had a terrible week so far (my dad is sick in hospital) so it will be up and down to Rathgar for us all week. So going to try for a babysitter and relax with the hubby.

OMG Sabbi, so many people say the same. The hubby and I head out every week by ourselves for dinner and a chat. We went into the Glenside once before about a year ago and found the staff great but we didn’t stay long because there was a massive wedding on and guests everywhere, we felt like a pair of "wedding crashers". So we cancelled the table…[Read more]

Did it. Have never been to the restaurant even though it is only out on the dublin road. The DH insists on going to the local restuarant every week for our weekly night out. I’d love a change.

Thank you all for your support and taking the time to reply.
I went to herbalist Sean Boylan in Dunboyne and got a great consult. I have been recommended various remedies and have started some of them already. They also talked about acupuncture so I will give that a try too. One of the remedies is Agnus Castus as someone already mentioned. Anyone…[Read more] -
snowdrop replied to the topic Budget 2010 – what do ye think? in the forum National Chat 13 years, 4 months ago
Mummy5 read your piece and was quite intrigued. You are the real result of a government who mis managed the so called boom. Instead of ploughing money into upskilling, re training or educating women then, instead they just kept increasing child benefit to keep "the mammies happy".
I do know how hard it is to make better your career in a such an…[Read more] -

Well put Mummy5, as i have expressed i am a working mum who relies on services such as yours, as I also use a private childminder, the reason for this is a creche would charge me approx 2200 euro for my four children to be minded but a private childminder does it for 1600 per month.
However I feel 2200 is an enormous amount of money and if I had…[Read more] -

This budget did nothing to empower women and helpthem back to work or education. It is only ensuring that we women are reverted back to 1940/50’s when it was a woman place to stay at home and look after our husbands and children (if you can afford to have any that is) and god forbid a woman wanted a career.
The budget has done nothing to create…[Read more] -

Hi there,
I had my little girl in 2009 in OLOL. I was booked to have the baby induced in Mount Carmel but went into intense labour at 7;30 am on a weekday so the ambulance crew brought me straight to OLOL. The care I had there was fantastic. They delivered my baby by CS on a Friday but wouldnt transfer me to Mount Carmel until the Saturday even…[Read more]
