as some of yee know my dd was sick over the last 2 weeks and due to all the crap she was on caused sore bum and then constipation, had to give her lactose to help her move.. then after forking out €110 on all her meds last week…
Yesterday we Forked out €15 for a spray on advice of chemist as her bottom was stinging her all the time ,,,,I sprayed her and it burned her , i mean actually burn mark….then had to bring her to the gp who gave her a cream that cost €35 and has to be thrown out after 7 days because of the ingredients in it… €60 in 1 day…
if i ever hear anyone who has a medical card complaining of the 50c on items i will swing… if they had the bill we had in 2 weeks they wouldnt be long about stopping…….
sorry but very angry……

I hope you kept all your receipts – I know it is little help now, but come next january, you can claim 20% back.
Medical bills can be very expensive and then you add on medical insurance and it all adds up. I am going to do some serious thinking about the medical insurance this year – does not appear to cover anything much when you actually go to claim!
March 3, 2010 at 12:52 pm #90648AlmaeMemberour bills last yr were over 2k , as we had to see specialist etc and with dd meds and my meds. we got 300e back … its a joke.
March 3, 2010 at 12:54 pm #90650JedtKeymasterThats awful….so sorry to hear that.
Not sure if this is helpful….. mammamia.ie do bottom sprays for new mums and babies that look really nice and gentle on skin. Maybe there is something they have that would be soothing for her and they are not expensive either.
Also, the Irish Breeze water wipes are very good for sore bums, they are on special offer in some pharmacies at the moment too.
Hope she feels better soon. x

Gosh we would be lost without our medical insurance. Each time our dd was hospitalised everything was covered from private room, to xrays and consultants fees.

March 3, 2010 at 4:58 pm #90711MartinaParticipantI would second bepanthen its great and I usually dust her with Caldesan Powder before I put on the cream just to make sure everything is dry and not getting aired!
March 3, 2010 at 5:27 pm #90713mommycakesMemberPoor little mite, we find bread soda baths very helpful with nappy rash as well as all of the above.
