Hi, Over the past couple of months I’m finding it really hard to find nice clothes for my daughter, she really needs a size 13, but most of the stores seem to stop at 12, which are just that little bit too tight at this stage. I’m really struggling for a confirmation outfit, has anyone any ideas please? I know the shops are only starting to get…[Read more]

I think your in a terrible situation made ten times worse by the time of year… is there any family you could go to or talk to. It could be that he’s just a big eejit and didn’t realise what he was doing or it could be that the attention went to his head.
It doesnt’ matter though its driving you insane and if you suffer from depression thats…[Read more]

Been there done that Anne, they don’t sell them in the Republic. Sainsbury’s in Newry are the nearest vendor. I got so desperate I rang the factory at one point last year.
They only sell them here in the Republic as a special for Christmas.

On the canvassing front its easy knowing that last Sunday was a nice day…. I had Peter Fitzpatrick & Brendan Breathnach in person within 20 minutes of each other.
In saying that Brendan Breathnach apologised when I opened the door, he realised that he was right behind the other crew…. I said it didn’t matter as long as Big Gerry wasn’t…[Read more]

I nearly caved yesterday…. but I keep reminding myself she’s TY this year so she hasn’t even any music…. NO, if I have to buy her a ladder to get in and out across the piles of stuff….. I’m determined, and I’m very stubborn so chances are the more annoyed I get looking at it the less chance there is I’ll do it for her!

From what I gather with my friends, the boys aren’t as bad as the girls….
The dirty washing will always arrive, its a handy way to get rid of it off the floor, the chair, the dressingtable….. now whether its dirty or not is another thing. I found a shirt in the wash on saturday that was ironed on monday or tuesday and never worn…[Read more]

Martina replied to the topic to give up work or not?? in the forum National Chat 14 years, 3 months ago
I gave up working full time when my last dd was born. I think because it wasn’t a conscious decision at the time I did get it very hard to settle at the time. I missed financial independence, lunchtime shopping, adult company and being out and about and dressed smartly for work.
For my first DD I worked all through primary school. We never did…[Read more]

Hi Taylor,
Thanks for those idea’s. We tried Argus, Democrat & Essentials Magazine, to be honest I didn’t think of Drogheda Indo, we’re closer to Dundalk so it just never dawned on me.
Someone here has been kind enough to get us a contact within LMFM and we’re emailing there at the minute.
She’s a young almost 16, wouldn’t be streetwise…[Read more]

We had concentrated mainly on media this time round, I honestly never thought of DKIT. I don’t think Boylesports would be able to take her, its been gambling and her underage. And she would be useless in a Hospital, very squeemish I’m afraid.
I don’t think she needs Garda Clearance for to work with kids because she’s under 16 she’s deemed to be…[Read more]

Hi Scole,
Would you believe that she has written to every one of those you mentioned and not one of them answered her letter.
She did her last stint in a Primary School and she got on really well, she can’t go back to the same place and we were trying anything really to do with music, media etc but nothing. She’s hoping to teach hasn’t made up…[Read more]

My DH is here most of the time, for a few weeks he had to stay away 5 nights at a time because of the snow really.
Small stuff yeah I’d go ahead and get it sorted. But to be honest no I wouldn’t call in workmen to do any alterations or buy anything for the house over say €100 without saying it to him first.
Its not because he’d expect me to c…[Read more]

I think its great, thinking of sending my 15 yr old instead of to The Gaeltacht.
I know between her pals. None of them can cook or sew as much as a button. Home Ec is all theory at school nowadays.
In saying that unless you were married to a fisherman and even then…. who guts fish? They do it in the fishmongers, lol. Last year they made…[Read more]

One of my pet bugs is the walking from the Church to the Graveyard at a funeral…. if we dressed up it would be no more respectful than having a St. Patrick’s Day Parade behind the Hearse and its always the older folk who do it, see people they haven’t met since the last one.

Martina replied to the topic has anyone seen one of these?? in the forum National Chat 14 years, 3 months ago
Sometimes they have them in Lidl & Aldi… but in saying that I haven’t seen one in a while. I always end up with the magnet and the notebook on the floor somehow or other. You could try the internet.
