Jedt replied to the topic Detangler hair brush – a must have for girls! in the forum Yummy Mummy to Practical Parenting! 10 years, 1 month ago
I plait or ponytail my girls hair each morning and spray it with Nitty Gritty headlice prevention spray. Its brill.
Took us a few years and few different products to get it all sorted in a way that suits.
The joys of parenting eh?

Yep, we got straight from these guys and they were delivered within a few days.
They have a version in Penney’s but my kids reckon its awful and they cry when we use that one and also, the one we got broke so I think you are better off buying the dearer one because it will last ages and they really so make brushing hair much less…[Read more]

Jedt replied to the topic First Holy Communions – are you getting organised? in the forum Weddings, Christenings, Communions, Confirmations etc 10 years, 1 month ago
If you wanted to to something a little bit different, we think this is a good idea; an ice-cream bike & cart! Its €2 a head and you can pick 5 flavours of ice-cream. I’ve tasted it and its lovely and my brother is having it at his wedding in June so it would be nice for a Communion too. See: http://www.rockfieldicecream.ie/index.html

If you want to get your hair and/or make-up done on the Communion day, there are some very cost effective ways to do that.
Biofresh skincare does a deal where product is redeemable against make-up applictaions, so you can buy a product e.g foundation and you get your make-up done for free! They do a great job, I love getting my make-up done…[Read more]

There is a bouncy castle company in Louth who do not charge extra for Communions so wanted to give them a mention – its SuperBounce Bouncy castles and the contact is Sean and he is on 086-2728333.
They still have availability for Communions if anyone is looking to book. I like that they do not charge extra when so many others do.

Jedt replied to the topic 150K Mortgage writedown – how?? in the forum Financial Advice & budgeting ideas 10 years, 1 month ago
Not such a great deal on that one? They will pay back roughly 450K over 30 years so they are not really getting away with much in the long run. That variable rate is killing them.
I am so grateful for our tracker rate…

Jedt replied to the topic St Patrick's Day – what are you doing? in the forum National Chat 10 years, 1 month ago
Lots of little people dressed in green coming out of school today – not quite leprechauns but near enough!!! they all look so cute dressed up like that – although, I am not sure how much glitter St Patrick would have been wearing back in the day.
Good luck with the fundraising libby – I am doing a 10km next week for a local cancer support charity…[Read more]

Jedt replied to the topic Why boy's don't cry (but then get angry) in the forum Newborns, Babies, Toddlers, Kids, Teens! 10 years, 1 month ago
It really made me think. We encourage our son to be strong but I also let him know, its ok to cry sometimes. We all feel like crying sometimes, its part of like and is natural and not just for girls. I think we do parent girls and boys differently, without even realizing it at times, so I thought this was a good one to share.
My son is 10 and we…[Read more]

Welcome to Mumstown Christine.
How are you enjoying being a mum of 2. Do the boys get on well?
When we had our youngest daughter, we also had a 4 year old and she kind of tormented the baby. She loved her so much that she was always trying to pick her up and play with her. It was a little bit stressful at times!!! Even now, the baby is 2 and is…[Read more]

Last night she made her hand into a claw shape and she put on a sad face and told me that her hand needed a ‘bopbop’.
She is a master manipulator – but we are not giving in!! We got rid of all the bottles so we cannot give in now, even if we wanted to! 😀
