I did find a support organisation called Birthmark Ireland http://www.birthmarkireland.com who have been helpful. They have a forum as well but so far no one has the same ones as my little man, but its a support organisation for parents and people with birthmarks and is associated with the hospital in Crumlin. It is a voluntary group and I am hoping to get involved with helping them out in this area. Anyone who wants more info should contact me.
Otherwise all well here. Oldest boy started playschool this week so its all excitement!
    Talk soon!

I found that my little ones always preferred homemade purees to any of the powdered stuff, but it was really useful to blend the fruit purees with baby rice to keep the flavours from being overpowering for a while. Also freezing the puree in an ice cube tray was handy too as they eat so little to start with.
In terms of what to give when, I always tried to give him something similar to what we would eat ie milk/cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch and maybe some sweet potato for tea (my kids loved this! – buy them in lidl, much cheaper than the big supermarkets).
Another tip is to cook the fruit/veg in the microwave as you use less water and can cook small amounts easier than in a pot.
As time goes by you can try blending stew and other meals before the salt for the adults goes in or the strong flavours and mine loved diff kinds of risotto as well, cooked really well so it was soft and mushy!
    Good luck!

Only managed to pop into the event for about half an hour, but it looked like it was going well and a nice lady gave my boys a set of toys even though we had to leave before the treasure hunt, so they were thrilled!
Sonairte looks great and it is well worth a walk around, my boys were fascinated by all the veggies! Puts our own veggie garden to shame! Hope the treasure hunt went well.

Am hoping to get to the event tomorrow, but with 3 small boys nothing is guaranteed in this house. Will try to give you a hand if I get there.
    Hope it goes well.

Wow! Sounds like this really is worth a visit. I have 3 boys under 4 and thought about doing this trip, but decided they might be too young yet to really enjoy it so decided to do a quick trip to Eurodisney this year and Thomasland when they are bigger. Plus flights to Paris much cheaper than ferry to Wales! Will have to put Thomasland on the plan for 2010!
My Mum would not be too happy about the fat controller though, she calls him the "very nice" controller when she reads the books (trying to be pc) and the lads correct her and say, but he is fat!! 😀

    Hi,
    Thanks for the interest!
It’s a very rare type of birthmark on a babies head. It’s not red like other birthmarks, but white and with no hair growing on it and can be associated with some neurological and developmental issues as well. It seems to be fairly rare because I can’t find anyone who has another child with it and amtrying to avoid looking online too much because what I read can be quite scary. 😡
We are seeing a dermatologist who is very helpful but I would love to have another Mammy to talk to about it. Just for my own peace of mind.
