I am just wondering what fitness excercise is best for weight loss and toning after having a baby. I am an oldermum and would like to loose about 2stone . i am walking a little at mo , and started aqua aerobics but am not sure if this is gonna be the right thing for me. Any good advise would be great thanks.
amarie40July 6, 2012 at 7:15 am #123101JedtKeymasterLab Fitness…no doubt about it, that’s where to go!!
There are loads of different classes. I think TRX is amazing, this is really excellent for toning up.
I am doing a bootcamp there at the moment, have finished having babies and want to shift the main chunk of baby fat so signed up for a 6 weeks course to get myself into shape. Its on from 6.30-7.30am Monday, Wednesday & Friday for either 4 or 6 weeks. We have done 2 weeks now and I am starting to feel good, less wobbly and increased energy levels.
This morning’s class was brilliant, we were outside in a football field for half an hour doing different exercises and I felt really good when we finished.
The girls are all lovely in there and lots of mums go, so they are excellent for helping us shed the post baby weight!!
July 6, 2012 at 11:36 am #123257JedtKeymasterJogging is really good – because as Laura said the other day in our exercise class, it moves all the fatty bits up and down and helpsget rid of them!! Sorry if TMI….
I have lost half a stone already in 2 weeks with LabFitness bootcamp, so I think this is a great way to lose baby weight. Its definitely working for me!

July 6, 2012 at 6:41 pm #123265Taylor5Memberlabfitness i just love the place, i just wish i had more time to get back there…. roll on September when ds is in playschool i will be there every morning 😉
July 6, 2012 at 7:27 pm #123267JedtKeymasterIts pure baby fat and I had a feeling that some of it would shift fairly quickly but to be honest, that was a better result than I expected so I am delighted.
When I started 2 weeks ago, I could feel the extra weight on my back and belly jiggling up and down, especially during the jogging on the first day but with all the exercise and watching my diet, now it seems there is a bit less jiggling going on LOL!!!
Am chuffed with myself – it has not been an easy two weeks but if someone wanted to get in shape for a special occasion or shift some baby weight, this is a great way to go and I highly recommend Laura and the girls!
I just hope I can muster this much enthuaism when I am rolling out of bed at 6am Monday morning!! 😆
July 6, 2012 at 8:04 pm #123268Taylor5MemberBrisk walking is brilliant for you, add that to sit ups everyday morning and evening, a few light weights would be brilliant too.
Lidi will stuff on offer next week
July 6, 2012 at 8:14 pm #123269JedtKeymasterWill nip into Lidl, need some sporty bits!
July 6, 2012 at 8:57 pm #123271Taylor5MemberI seen the clip on TV3 the other morning, they were using Dumbells and an sit up thing, i can see the sit up thing on their site but not the weights, it was the weights i was looking for!! Nice little running jacket and leggings and running shoes.
I know they arent a brand name but i find Aldi and Lidl stuff great qualityJuly 9, 2012 at 1:37 pm #123301lauraMemberamarie40 Aquarobics is great for people who are recovering from injuries or a really limited with the amount of impact they can do…but if your health is good, not the most effective workout for loosing weight.
Interval training (sessions that change the speed several times) is the most effective form for the human body to burn fat… we teach a class called ‘skinny jeans’ which uses tabata training… you do the same exercise for 4 minutes… doing 20 sec high intensity followed by 10 seconds recovery…this class, after teaching for 2 years, delivers results and the ladies just love it..
We have classes to suit every fitness taste and level, so please feel free to give me a call anytime on 0876314752… i like to get to know people so i can recommend the best suitable class for htem.

amarie40I totally agree with Sabbi!
Lab Fitness is the best option for you, it worked fine with me after having my child and I’m sure it will work for you..August 17, 2012 at 2:46 pm #123780JedtKeymasterI went to Zumba last week and it was really fun but also a great workout – I was sweating buckets during the class and really needed my towel for wiping the sweat that was running in to my eyes.
Not a pretty picture I know but it was an effective workout and thats what I was after!!
I was wearing my Zaggora hotpants too and they make you sweat like mad so that made me even hotter.
The things us mammies do to shift the baby fat! 🙄 🙄
