The world’s finest soloists and ensembles will play concerts from morning to late night in Bantry House, St Brendan’s Church and St Finbarr’s Church in Bantry town. The line-up will include the Artis Quartet, Escher Quartet, Scottish star violinist Nicola Benedetti, violinist Alina Ibragimova with her quartet, Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman, Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto, French pianist Philippe Cassard, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland with the Irish Youth Choir, Russian pianist Kirill Gerstein, who was recently named the recipient of the 2010 Gilmore Artist Award and many more performing famous and much-loved works from the repertoire as well as lesser-known, contemporary gems. There will also be a violinmaking demonstration in the Old Cinema, The Square, Bantry for the duration of the festival.
