My son has been going to a Childminder since April, he loves her.
It is her 40th Birthday in a couple of weeks & i would like to make her a card with Photos of them both on the outside & a poem inside.
Have you ever heard of such a poem to a childminder, if so please could you pass it onto me?
I have been searching on the net but can’t find anything suitable. I would like it to be a sort of thank you poem or a praising poem for a childminer.
Also what would be a suitable present?
It is a big birthday so was thinking of getting her a voucher for a meal but then would she expect the same evrey year. Alternatively would flowers & chocolates be enough with this handmade card?
What do you think?
The newsagents in Scotch hall has cards for childminders, nursery teachers etc. Maybe you could ‘rob’ one of their verses! If they have any in them that is!
Thanks for that Suggestion Bettystown Babe. I must have a look in scotchall. Did look in hallmark on west st but they have none.
Actually may just buy the card there if it is suitable. Don’t know why i always go to so much fuss about idividualising (Spelt worng) presents, people probably don’t even notice. No one ever goes to that much effort for me!!!
Feel like i am constantly buying presents for other people lately.

This might help!!!! I think its nice to make one….I know I love getting cards from my own kids with little messages in them.
A Child Care Provider
A substitute for working moms,
She comforts, pampers, soothes, and calms.
With all the love she has to share,
She’s great to have when mom’s not there.
She loves to rock a fussy child,
Corrects the one who gets too wild.
She hears her share of tearful pleas,
And comforts those with skinned up knees.
With little children she plays peek,
For bigger ones it’s hide and seek.
She is an expert at each game,
But somehow loses just the same.
She help them learn the alphabet,
And gives them hugs when they’re upset.
She gently tucks them in their beds,
With dreamland tales for sleepyheads.
She is a true and trusted friend,

Although she’s paid, it’s plain to see,

Lovely sentiment. I’m not sure about the first line either. Could you not change it to something like:
She’s there for me when mom’s at work
She comforts, pampers, soothes, and calms.
With all the love she has to share,
She’s great to have when mom’s not there.
She loves to rock a fussy child, etc etcAnd credit is as ‘adapted from a poem by Larry Howland’?
The rest of the poem is beautiful..
Just copied as written but that 1st line is a bit iffy!
