We know that nearly all children are highly visual, however those with learning difficulties cannot control their visual field and they can struggle to concentrate. We have had incredible success in implementing the revolutionary Pass Literacy On Programme.
By showing children how to learn using their visual memory, we teach them simple skills that will help them overcome their learning difficulties.
These new skills will assist children in:
Becoming fluent at reading and spelling through developing the skill to “see” words in your minds eye – a skill all good readers and spellers have naturally.
Improving concentration and motor skills through learning how to stabilise your visual memory.This can significantly benefit those learning Irish and foreign languages, plus better, comprehension and handwriting skills.
We offer a series of Pass Literacy On* sessions where a parent and child can learn these techniques in a safe and confidential environment. These are 1-1 sessions where the family members can benefit from individual specialist coaching.
We also deliver a Pass Literacy On Family Breakthrough Day which is a full day workshop for children and adults to learn these simple and highly effective techniques and practice them with their families. Each family can bring 2 children or alternatively a teacher may bring up to 2 students on the day. The Family Breakthrough Day allows parents and children to interact with other families who are experiencing similar challenges where everyone will learn new and easy to use skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

I am continuing to see the benefits and effects from this workshop on a daily basis with the children that I work with in a small group setting. So much so that they are challenging me to spell the words backwards (using their taught method of whiteboards) and to date they have taken great joy in my epic fails but their joy and pride in knowing they are succeeding in something that I cannot do is amazing!”
“The workshop was not only informative to myself and undoubtedly the parents, but also reinforced in the children’s minds their strengths and then how to overcome their weaknesses; which in most cases is spelling. Children were made realise that they were not stupid but that they learned in a different way than others, and was what they were taught during the session. One child stated afterwards when asked did he enjoy the workshop; “Yes, I enjoyed it. I learned that I was not stupid and I learned how to spell. I know now that I just learn differently than others.”

Con was very approachable to both parents and children, and all felt comfortable working with him and were confident to ask him questions throughout.”
