Trawling through health cover policies can serve to exasperate and infuriate policy holders! Normally we fall into one of two categories;
1. The Automatic Renewer or, 2. The Shopper…Whichever you are, before you pick up that pen or that phone ask yourself the following questions;
1. Do you want cover for a public hospital or a private hospital?
2. Do you want money back when you visit a doctor, dentist, physio, etc?
3. Are you willing to pay a lower premium subject to having certain excess amounts on your policy?
4. Has your medical situation changed?
5. Has your family grown, or about to grow?These questions are hugely vital and should be answered pre renewal as you will be liable for any additional costs in the wake of an unexpected and potentially costly medical emergency if you are not covered.
The answers will also help you cut through the myriad of plans and allow you to be able to compare just a few.
