It was very upsetting hearing on the news this week that a man, who had been noticed and reported as acting strangely in Co Laois this week, tried to abduct an 11 year old girl.
the girl and her 10 year old brother were walking along when he pulled over in his jeep and pulled the girl into the jeep with him. He closed the door and was driving off when the 10 year old boy jumped on the back of the jeep and caused so much fuss and distracted the man, that the girl managed to get away.
they are both safe after the ordeal and while the man got away at the time, he was arrested the next day.
if he had gotten away with her, I would fear that she would never be seen again.
That poor girl will be traumatized but thank goodness she is safe.
I wonder, how much of a sentence he can get for attempting the abduction?
