sadmum replied to the topic Probably the best toy shop I've ever been to! in the forum Louth Chat 15 years, 4 months ago
love the shop myself and so do the kids but they are very difficult about changing things/refunding etc. We have had some bad experiences with them and my DH witnessed a very heated exchange between the owner and somebody who bought a faulty buggy in it. I’ve bought in it myself but I don’t have much faith in their after sales service.

Thanks for this, been thinking about getting the kids photos done again and didn’t really want to goback to pixi. Those prices are very competitive, i’ll be talking to DH about it later.

I thought that myself about the steel bars big with the gaps in between, not at all safe for the toddlers. Good playground but I agree it is taken over by teenagers and very cheeky ones at that (mind you, are there any other kind???). 😛

Went in yesterday and the first thing that struck me is that its hard to find what you need. They have done a fair bit of rearranging and its very hard to find stuff. Like another poster I was delighted with the bigger range of quorn products and they had a lot of good value pasta etc. I also noticed a lot of tinned meals like curries or chilli…[Read more]

I agree with bunnacurry and bookwitch, excellent points, very well made.
I work for the public sector, in a semi-state organisation and I’m sick to the back teeth of feeling like I have to justify my job, my contribution and my salary. I am absolutely fed up to the eyeballs of the media portraying that I don’t pay for my pension, that its…[Read more]

sadmum replied to the topic Sick Leave in the forum Louth Chat 15 years, 10 months ago
Hi Libby,
It depends on what type of sick pay scheme his employer operates. In most cases he will move from full pay to half pay after six months and continue to send his social welfare cheques to his employer while he’s out sick.
The exception would be if he is paying in to some type of income continuance scheme or insurance if he is out…[Read more]

sadmum replied to the topic Parking at Train Station in the forum Louth Chat 16 years ago
there was talk about that some time ago but i don’t think so now. There are loads of parking spaces at Gormanstown anyway, i doubt they need any more. I think most of the money is going to the company that will monitor the parking so i doubt there will be a huge amount more to re-invest.
Best just grin and bear it i suppose 👿

If you are prepared to go to a few different shops then you can get the bargains. I go to Lidl for toilet roll (its absolutely fine, we don’t find that we use more), kitchen roll, some frozen veg/chicken burgers etc, dilutes for the kids, some baby foods, nappy bags. They also do a leading brand of bread, i can’t think of the name of it now but…[Read more]

Thats excellent thanks a million Taylor. I’ll pop them in the car this evening and drop them in on my way home tomorrow. I had a great clear out, not sure what i was keeping all of the stuff for to be honest. I love the thoughts of somebody who needs them getting good use out of them. 🙂

Isn’t there another play area in Dundalk, in the sports place off Newry Road. To be honest i agree with the other ladies, there are already a lot of play places in Drogheda. At A’s birthday party in Leisureparks the chap who was organising it told us they are really quiet a lot of the time, i would imagine thats because there are so many places…[Read more]

well i’m afraid i don’t have a computer at home and can’t use work one for photos etc. I don’t mind paying it to be honest, but each to their own. It not 225 for 8 of the same photo by the way, there are some of m on her own, a on his own, m&a, and then the whole family. My mum, h’s mum and family overseas will love them, as will we.

Hi,
You get one large pic free (well for the €10 you pay at the start). Then you can get 1 pose for €85 which includes a large pic (sorry not sure of sizes), smaller one and four small passport size of that pose. We’ve had an offer of €225 for all 8 poses, all pictures sizes which i think is great. Haven’t seen them yet mind you bu…[Read more]
