I really really hope this has all been resolved by now and that you were looked after well and are able to get back to normal and forget about it. what a long and drawn out nightmare for you.

insurance companies have done so well out of covid. most of us weren’t driving much but instead of a proper refund or a decent discount on next years…[Read more]

could this be peri-menopausal? when your periods start to stagger in your 40’s?

or it could be stress either. i think women have been under all sorts of pressure lately and this can affect our periods and cycles

hope it settles down for you.

my period has been coming earlier the past while, so more periods than usual. yay. not.

We have only one thing good this year and the school has said they will let us pay the school fees a little later than usual. so instead of being paid by start of September, we now have until the end of September. that’s all they’ve done. no reduction in fees, no leeway on the uniforms, no money back from the admin fees last year for days out and…[Read more]

I’d literally kill my husband if he did this. imagine finding out your husband was married to someone else too. oh, that would be awful

I was in a shopping centre in Dublin with my daughters today. It was busy bit not too busy. They had big yellow arrows on the floor to make it clear which was we should walk. One side of the aisles was for walking one direction and the other side, for walking the opposite direction. It was very clear and we adhered to the rules but I was shocked…[Read more]

There is so much stress and worry about Christmas and for what? so we can all be broke in january. im just not doing it. going to get smaller gifts and only for people close to me and family. we are doing secret santa too in our family to cut down on how much we spend each year. its all so wasteful…[Read more]

  • I took my Mam to see Gilbert O’Sullivan at the National Concert Hall a couple of weeks ago and oh my word, he was fantastic! My Mam loves him and was always playing his records when we were growing up and I got the tickets as a surprise for her birthday and I decided to go along with her. I was not sure if it would be my cup of tea but I have to…[Read more]

Sorry for you Sabbi. I think if they knew you at all, they would settle with you and give you back your loss of earnings and a big apology. you are always doing things for other people and other mammies and its so sad that you are being treated this way. its viscous and horrible but I believe in Karma and think it will all work out in the end. you…[Read more]

do you know anything about that? i never heard of it at all

That looks like a whole new kitchen. we did something similar last year – we painted our boring wooden kitchen presses in a cream colour and its changed the whole kitchen completely.

its so much brighter and lighter. well done hmm, great job.

the paint colour is gorgeous and looks really professional.

    did it cost alot?

  • Hello,

I was thinking of getting a pension. I am a SAHM and have no income of my own but I would like to start a small pension, just a little nest egg for when I am older. I can put away a little money each month from my household income but I don’t know where to start?

    what would you recommend?

The Village Hotel is lovely – that’s what I’d like for Mother’s day. And a nice glass of secco too, sounds very nice indeed

I’d be nervous too. Going back to work is hard, you dont wanna leave them with anyone else, no matter how good they are but he’ll be ok. they are more sturdy than we think, even at 5 months.

good luck going back to work. let us know how it goes for you

Ooh, I don’t know. I think if they are in a serious relationship you kind of have to let them sleep over. If you are really uncomfortable about it, put the boyfriend on the sofa!

A stone in 6 weeks sounds like alot to lose and you’re not a big person from looking at the pics so maybe its unrealistic to expect that much in such a short space of time?

i dont think id be able for all that, sounds way too hard for a busy mum

Have you tried New Look? They have a range called Generation 9-15 which goes up to age 15 and they have some nice stuff. you can look online for their range too

Boohoo.com do really small sizes, like size 4 and this might work on a 12 year old.

Also, M&S are kinda nice – it depends on what kind of outfit she wants

does she know what she wants…[Read more]

They were selling cards for the blind in my local shop last week and I bought a pack and I was surprised when they said ‘ that’ll be 7 euro please’

I think 7 euro is a bit much for a pack of cards. they should charge €5, they’d sell more I think
