Dont start me off on this yokes!!!
Who every planned to put 4 withinn yards of each other should be shot as they are affecting the flow of traffic and its backing Peter st up, can you imagine what the traffic will be like at xmas.
Plus people cant use them I nearly knocked a man down the other day, I was coming down peter street and he came for Laurances street, he was about 6 feet from the crossing but juststarted to walk across the road diagionally, I kept driving as he wasnt on the crossing he did let a few f’s at me……… but as far as Im concerned he you have to stand at crossing an wait for the traffic to stop rathet then just walk out infront of cars, would you just walk out into the road at a set of pedestrain lights? … eh NO, you’d wait for the traffic to stop then cross so why arent people doing this at the zebra crossings! 😯
The West Street and crossing should be moved further back up the street just to stop people crossing two roads together diagionally and free the flow of traffic

it blocks up the whole of peter street and the damned taxis dont help it either just pulling out in front of ya!
people dont know how to use them at all, u cant just walk out for god sake, or zig zag across the road thinking that cos its there ur safe!!!!!
pain in the ass if u ask me!
agree with taylor, what the hell will it be like at x mas with people shiopping between laurence centre and scotch hall!

think they really only need the one at west street

I think the peter street crossing gets more traffic (human) the west street one should be up nearer Pennies and the shop street or Laurance st one move down the street…..
You drive from peter st then have to stop in the middle or the square as there is someone crossing at shop street, nightmare….. I feel like running people over, must be the hormones 😳 😆 😆 😆 😆
Your right yummy they think they are safe and zig zag across from one crossing to the other….
Its one of my biggest pet hates about drogheda at the moment

Agree with Yummy and Taylor – they are ridiculous! The should definitely move the West Street one back up West Street, would make alot more sense. And no the taxi drivers don’t help, they think the own the bloody street! 😈

Second all of the above comments, it is crazy, there are next to no other crossings in the town where they are actually needed and they go and put them all in one location, typical lack of planning !! On the taxi drivers, they clearly think the rules of the road dont apply to them…typical example is coming down peter st and triy to turn into the car park of the laurence centre, there is a yellow box there to facilitate drivers turning left and the taxis continually block it, sitting in it brazenly causing traffic to back up the street…drives me crazy !!!! 👿

i think the playground area is disgraceful for such a large town, a handful of parking spots and no toilets

The one at the back of the Town centre, where O Briens is drives me insane as well, as it is more or less right on the corner 😈 think it is dangerous. Also before they put the new bit in, there was no white lines there and wasnt sure if it still was a zebra crossing or not???

I never drive that way only went over them once or twice, but very close to the corner. At least those ones have flashing lights to warn drivers that idots will just step out thinking they have the right of way…. someone will be killed thinking the cars will just stop for them
They should even put railings on the corners of the crossroads on West/laurance/peter/ shop street…. or just sack the person who put them in
