I just ran a quote for a couple, both aged 40 and he is a smoker for €250,000 life cover and €100,000 specified illness cover on a convertible term basis for a 20 year term. The difference between the cheapest and dearest quote was €25.28 per month! Over theterm of the plan that’s an extra €6,067.20!
It shows the importance of reviewing what you have and what you are paying for. Of course, it’s important to know the difference between the products as well. Some companies only allow the "conversion" option to be exercised at the end of the term (very restrictive) while some allow you to convert the plan at any date during the full term.
If anyone just wants an idea of premium for comparison, just PM me dates of birth, smoker status, amount of cover and term (and type if you know it).
