    Just spent a lovely afternoon at home baking and decorating a cake for Halloween with my girls, aged 5 & 7.

    We picked up some Dr Oetker baking supplies and got to it! Really easy to do, simply rolled out the icing until it was soft and covered our plain sponge with that. Then we drew bats, pumpkins and half moons (they may not look exactly right but sure thats half the fun!) and then we stuck loads of marshmallows all over it.

    Not sure if marshmallows are very ‘Halloweeny’ but they taste too nice to leave out!!

    Here are some pics, might inspire some of you to get the rolling pin out over the mid-term. Its a cheap and fun way to spend a few hours keeping the kids occupied…
