    Just read in the paper Collon Animal Sanctuary are shortlisted to win some funding through EBS click on this link to vote for them….

    Such a worth while cause as they do a fantastic job and its a great little place to go with kids for a spin.

    i will not be voting , i might be a killjoy but i do not agree with this sanctuary 1 bit , different folks different strokes , had an awful experience there

    have heard several people say similar things to Noeleen….??? i wonder what happened to…but have also heard positive stories as welll…………..

    Think its very common to hear bad stories, but these places are being run on a shoe string, can be easy!

    So agree with taylor we got our dog from collon she is the best dog we have even had and brings hours of fun she now sitting on the rug in front of our fire with one eye open watching everything love her to bits

    i did vote as i am sure they are a worthy cause & they are very much needed but all i will say is yes if I was ever looking for a rescue dog of course I would go to Collon as there are many poor dogs there looking for homes but of course you have to take your chance as they would not know the temperment of the dog that well…would i surrender a dog or take a dog I had found to Collon to be re-homed…NO i would not….

    they do provide a much needed service and its somewhere you either love or hate….

    If uou do find a dog & unable to keep or need to rehome your own dog..please first point of call contact your local animal rescue charity such as DAR or Last Hope…they may not be able to take it off your hands straight away but will do everything they can to find it a good home asap..ocassionally they can put a dog in emergency foster care but more often it takes a few days or weeks…

    i think i can remember your story on here Noeleen & i can see why you are against them.

    I remember your story too. My brother who would deal with dogs alot did say to me if a dog has been surrendered to a pound, itsthere for a reason, he told me got look at the likes of DAR for a younger dog, got on and she is brilliant
