Yep, just got the PHONECAll… from some idiot advising that through their systems they have seen that I have a computer virus…. and he would like to help me fix it….
Told him, quite nicely in fact, to get knotted…..
Just warning everyone out there not to get taken in by it!
that’s crazy!!!!! and id imagine upc or cable customers would be well taken in by this too..must tell my mam, she’s a prime target for stuff like this. 🙁
i heard this a few times over the past month… think they got a few older people for a few hundered euros each…
A friend of ours got one of these calls lately and the guy on the other end of the phone was quite taken aback when after offering to fix the problem with friends pc was told he doesnt own a pc [ which he doesnt] and he got very abusive and hung up. When friend checked the call had been made from a private number.
