deleted the poem due to the comment made.
June 25, 2008 at 6:13 pm #63316BigginsMemberI like the sentiment but I wish people posting this stuff would have the decently to post this "stuff" ( for want of a better word) onto their own religious forums.
We have multi-racial, other faiths and agnostic’s etc as members here!
Please keep the religious postings to your like minded collogues!Others don’t come in here with postings of the Buddhist or Muslim faith so why does "god" posting have to be shoved in our faces?
June 25, 2008 at 6:18 pm #63317Alison,MemberBiggins , there was no need for your reply , this was merely a poem for Mothers and if God is mentioned in it so be it lIt is not a religious thing , its just a poem .relax.
June 25, 2008 at 6:45 pm #63318rossylisaMemberread this poem earlier it was a lovely poem
June 25, 2008 at 8:19 pm #63319Taylor5MemberOh lighten up Biggins, Alison put the post back up I think for mothers and mothers to be in my case a bit of faith is nice, Im sure Biggins himself said a few prayers when his dd was ill inhospitlal (No Atheists In Foxholes)
We have many many cultures and religions and faiths but if a poll was done I would bet that the major are Roman Catholic or Christians…. In saying that if a muslim or Budda wanted to post a pray I would love to read it and take from it what I wanted or what it meant to me
For the record Alison is a very well respected poster on here and has give comfort and support with many of her post, very unfair and uncalled for.
PLEASE PUT THE POST BACK UP IN GENERAL CHAT AND NOT IN " THEIR OWN RELIGIOUS FORUMS FOR YOUR LIKE MINDED COLLOUGES"June 25, 2008 at 8:24 pm #63320rossylisaMemberi agree with taylor put back up the poem …it was a post about mothers and babies what is this site called 🙄
June 25, 2008 at 8:37 pm #63321Taylor5MemberThanks Rossy
As you say its called "Mumstown", I think its great that some dads are on and I think Biggins brings alot to the site, but there are some things from a womans point of view that a man will never understand.
For the record I dont practics any religon and my ds isnt even Christened, but I still have prayer books for him (brilliant one in Dunnes Grocery at the moment only 3.99) and get him to say prayers, I even have a kids bible and tell him stories for Noah, baby Jesus etc….
A prayer is a prayer if you dont like it dont Feckin read it and then it wont offend you…….. Sorry for the rant but this is a touchy point with me plus I think its the hormones, dh told me if he put me in an empty room I’d have a row with myself 😯 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆June 25, 2008 at 8:57 pm #63323joey_ruddMemberit was a nice poem doesn’t matter what religion you are!!!
oh and whatever biggins said, i didn’t, i’d like to point that out just incase.
June 25, 2008 at 9:14 pm #63324posieMemberPlease put the poem back up.
June 25, 2008 at 9:50 pm #63325kasiaMemberto biggins – why do you think you can tell somebody that their post was inappropriate?? just because it mentioned god?? i thought that the forum was open to everybody. you don’t have to agree with what people are writing, but telling them to go somewhere else?? very low comment.
just to remind you, maybe you didn’t read:
Forum RulesRemember real people are behind the user names. Please treat everyone with the same respect that you would expect. Mumstown.ie moderators will do their very best to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible.
By signing up & logging into Mumstown.ie forums, you agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful or threatening. No links to sites which may be illegal, pornographic in nature or otherwise objectionable will be tolerated.
as far as i can see – there was NOTHING obscene abusive hateful etc in alison’s poem. poem like any other – some people like it, some don’t – for them to decide
to allison – why did you take your poem off? there was no need, because you haven’t written anything that was against the forum rules. so many people liked it. it’s a pity that a comment like this had that sort of effect.
and to the others – why do you think that you owe biggins an explanation about your beliefs?? you owe that to nobody.

Joey dont get me wrong I didnt like how Biggins wanted the post removed, I dont have anything against him and he has his right to voice his opinion on the topic, but think he crossed the line asking it to be removed to its "propper place"
What he says/posts has NO reflection on you whats so ever and dont worry about it. 😀 😀 😀
June 26, 2008 at 10:02 am #63338joey_ruddMemberthanks taylor
i wouldn’t blast anyone about a religion or beliefs that they wish to share just because i didn’t agree with it
i didn’t think the poem should of been removed just because someone got on his high horse about it (even if i am married to him!)
it was lovely no matter what it was about
it should be posted back up, just ignore what biggins says about it!!!June 26, 2008 at 10:33 am #63343Alison,MemberA baby asked God, ‘They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?’ God said, ‘Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.’
The child further inquired, ‘But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.’ God said, ‘Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel’s love and be very happy.’
Again the child asked, ‘And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?’ God said, ‘Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.’
‘And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?’ God said, ‘Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.’‘Who will protect me?’ God said, ‘Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.’
‘But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.’ God said, ‘Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.’
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, ‘God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel’s name.’
God said, ‘You will simply call her, ‘Mammy.’
Lift a mother’s spirit, send this to every mother you know (no matter how old her child is)June 26, 2008 at 12:08 pm #63361scole1MemberBiggins,
As moderator i am disgusted that you have made a demand of such for the most innocent poem, if requiring item remove it would be in better form to contact moderator or site admin and air your comments there where they will be reviewed and if in breech of rules topic removed…..
However you have crossed the line demanding such thing, it seems that you have somehow forgotton the site in which you are commenting on, it is mainly a site aimed for mothers and also with some imput from fathers, we would ask that you respect the site and other members with the same respect that you would like to receive……you do not have the right to demand that someone remove such a post where it does not offend, for your information regardless of religion it is infact a poem that all religions would respect and like to read, it is not a poem that is to force any sort of religion down your throat, it is simply a comforting poem that many can appreciate…..Alison has been very nice and as taylor stated has brought comfort to many on this site……Biggins may i remind you of type of fourm this is, a mothering site where yes like other humans we moan about this and that share things with one another but also a site that does not and will not stand for bullying or rudeness or inappropiate demands or postings…..there are plenty of forums that may tolorate your choice of daming so it would be an idea that perhaps you make keep that to those forums and not here……
At this stage Biggins an apology to Alison would be appropiate and decent thing to do, if you do not agree fair enough but many are shocked annoyed and disappointed by your comment..you have not only offened Alison but other members here.Alison thank you for reposting such a beautiful poem…
June 26, 2008 at 12:11 pm #63362HappymammyMemberIm still way to hormonal to be reading such lovely peoms!!!
