KeymasterI am going to buy as much gifts local and Irish as possible this year and I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where we can give each other ideas for gifts that are not expensive and that can be gotten locally and that are made in Ireland.
Let’s start off with candles!
Bog standard have a fab range and they start at around 6 euro. They are 100% Irish and smell amazing. Irish Moss and Irish Hedgerow are my favourites. See http://www.bogstandard.ie/Brooke & Shoals – Again, 100% Irish. They have a lovely Christmassey smelling candle that would be lovely to burn in your hall in December. Also make a nice gift for teachers, friends etc Available online or at Carraig Donn in Drogheda, see http://www.brookeandshoals.ie/

KeymasterSmorsagbord is a foodie board game which is 100% made in Ireland. You can buy it in Relish and other local cafes and its good fun. Especially if you have family coming to visit over the Christmas holidays and you want to play something a little different. See http://www.smorgasboard.ie/

KeymasterThese are cute books for small children, the adult puts their face in the middle of each page while reading it. So you actually ‘Bee the book’…. 😀
Made in Ireland see http://www.beethebooks.com and if you type in the discount code FREEPOST, you’ll get free postage as well.

KeymasterMy hubby and I had a hotel break at Clanard Court Hotel a few years ago and it was lovely. Nice room, lovely dinner (the best risotto I have ever had in Ireland) and very easy to get to in Kildar. Its in the town of Athy which is a nice town, with interesting history and ancestral tours, shopping, nice pubs, cafes etc and close to Kildare Village if you like a bit of shopping.
See special offers here:

KeymasterIf you need to buy Christmas stockings or any other personalised, embroidered gifts, Angie is great over at A Stitch ‘n’ Dime, see https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Stitch … 8592155667
We got personalised stockings for the kids and ourselves this year (first time we have ever had these!) They are lovely, will look great on the fireplace when the decorations go up. Also, would make a nice gift for someone, only 12 euro.

KeymasterBook recommendations as Christmas gifts:
Stuart Neville – The Twelve. Irish author, Irish setting, totally gripping & utterly brilliant. A thriller with a spiritual kind of aspect.Arlene Hunt – Black Sheep & The Outsider. First one set in Ireland and the other set in USA. Both thrillers that keep you hooked. Very funny way of writing, peppered with Irish.
Marian Keyes – Mystery Of Mercy Close. Fab. Funny. Irish. Brilliant. Love, love, love all her books and this does not disappoint. Deals with a serious issue but as always with Marian Keyes, in a lighthearted way.
Niamh Green – Coco’s Secret. This is set between Ireland and Paris and is so beautiful. Its sweet, charming and romantic. Loved it and my mother-in-law loved it too so good for all ages.
We will have 10% off vouchers for Easons in the Mumstown Christmas goody bags at the events on 3rd & 5th Dec, so watch out for those!

They are great value at around 40 euro and are unique to the person you buy them for. Really love these, we are getting my mother-in-law one, she saw mine and keep son saying how much she loves it – http://www.thejewellerytree.ie/floating-lockets
