Make a Dash and Create Some Magic for Vulnerable Children this Christmas
Sightings of Santa have been reported all over Dublin and Leinster today. It appears that the man in red is back and looking for men, women and children to register on http://www.barnardos.ie to join him in the fourth annual fun run for the children’s charity. The run is taking place on Sunday, 12th December, at Marlay Park.
While Santa is already in training to meet the demands of a busy festive season ahead, he took some time out for an exclusive interview; “Christmas is of course a very busy time for me and I need to make sure I’m at my fittest; the Barnardos 5K Santa Dash is the perfect opportunity for me to stretch my legs before the big night. It is a jolly good way to get into the festive spirit and I hope that children and families will join me this year and help spread some Christmas magic by fundraising to help the many vulnerable children across Ireland that Barnardos works with.”
A sea of red will wash over Marlay Park on December 12th as hundreds of bearded Santas will make the 5km dash.
This is a great chance for friends and families to get together and have a fun day out whilst also raising funds for the work Barnardos does with disadvantage children and their families living in Ireland.
Starting at 10.30 am, with registration from 9.00 am, participants will run a 5K lap before heading to the St John’s GAA club, beside Marlay Park for some well-earned festive refreshments and carol singing.
People can register for the Barnardos 5K Santa Dash by visiting http://www.barnardos.ie or texting JOG to 51444. All participants will receive a fundraising pack in the post. Barnardos will have a supply of Santa suits on the day for those who don’t have their own festive outfit.
