Just a quick note to see if you could pass the word around about our search to find The Afternoon Show Cook of the Year. It’s an amateur competition and the only rules are that each applicant must be over the age of 18 and must have no formal culinary training or use culinary skills to earn a living.

The competition is national and we will be having regional heats in the four Provinces of Ulster, Munster, Connaught and Leinster from the start of April. This is open to Mums, Dads, sons, daughters, Uncles, Aunties, friends etc and you can also nominate someone else (with their permission). We’ll be asking everyone who applies to come along to one of the regional venues witha signature dish to meet our judges.

One of the prizes will see the winner coming onto The Afternoon Show to cook for us!

To apply, all you have to do is e-mail:

    Kathy Littler [KathyLittler@greeninc.ie]

With why you (or whoever you have nominated) should be the Cook of the Year and you can even pop a picture in for us!

    The closing date is Friday.

All the info plus our rules are on the website: http://www.rte.ie/theafternoonshow
