We went down last night, there was a special ceremony to remember people who have died from cancer. We had the person’s name written on a balloon (pink for women, blue for men) and the parish priest came and blessed the balloons and then they were released into the sky.
We had a balloon in there for my father-in-law who passed away 3 months ago and it was so lovely seeing his balloon, among hundreds being released into the sky. It was a beautiful evening and it was so nice seeing the sky filled with pink & blue balloons. That was organised by Balbriggan Cancer Support Centre, who are a fantastic group of people supporting families dealing with cancer.
Lots more on today including a fun fair and activities. worth a look, especially in this nice weather.
