Stem cell harvest in OLOL?

Has anyone harvested their blood/cells from the cord in OLOL?

Are the staff allowed to help of do you have to do it yourself (dh wont do it) if I have a section Im arsed.

I read something recently that they only do this in some Dublin hospitals, funny feeling it’s Mt Carmel (and very expensive) I’ll get back to you if I remember where I read it!

Hi Taylor,

Call Medicare and they’ll be able to tell you. It’s available in the Rotunda IF you go to two specific private consultants (even though the hospital policy is they don’t do it) If it is available you would most likely have to be a private patient and the consultant is affiliated with Medicare.
