    I am not advocating betting but…fair play to the Dad of a young Irish fella who, 10 years ago, when his son was 9, he placed a bet that one day his son would play for Man United. The bookies took the bet and gave him odds of 100-1, so he put 12.50 down.

    10 years on and last night, the son made his debut and the Dad is set to pocket 12,500!!

    That’s a nice reward for having faith in your child :D

    God only 12.50!! Imagine if he put a few hundred on his boy…. didnt Rory McElroys dad do the same? Was it a bet that he would win a Major before 21 or something, i think he got a few hundred thousand in winnings, nothing to his sons millions of course, but nice when you get it.
