i saw these and thought some of you might like them

    ——————————————————-
    baby’s don’t keep :

I hope that my child, looking back on today
    Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you’re not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I’m nursing my baby, and babies don’t keep.

    —————————————————
    A kiss when i wake :

A kiss when I wake in the morning,
A kiss when I go to bed,
A kiss when l burn my fingers,
A kiss when l bump my head.
A kiss when my bath begins,
A kiss when my bath is over,
My mamma is as full of kisses
As a nurse is full of pins.
A kiss when l pull her hair,
A kiss when l play with my rattle,
She covered me all over with kisses
The day l fell down stairs.
A kiss when l give her trouble,
    A kiss when l give her joy;
    There’s nothing like mamma’s kisses
    To her own little boy.

    come to the window :

    come to the window,
    my baby, with me,
    And look at the stars
    That shine out to sea!
    There are two little stars
    That play bo-peep
    with two little fishes
    far down in the deep;
    And two little frogs
    Cry "Neap, neap, neap,"
I see a dear little baby
    That should be asleep

    ——————————-
    Dust if you must :

Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Or bake a cake, or plant a seed,
Or ponder the difference between want and need.

Dust if you must, but there’s not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and a life to lead.

Dust if you must but the world’s out there,
The sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair.
A flurry of snow, a shower of rain –
This day will not come back again.

Dust if you must, but bear this in mind,
Old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go, as go you must,
You yourself will make more dust!

    ——————————————

    Eight Big Fingers :

Eight big fingers standing up tall,
Two little ears to hear mummy call,
One little nose that I can blow,
Ten little toes all in a row.
Two short thumbs that wriggle up and down,
Two little feet to stand on the ground.
Hands to clap and eyes to see,
Oh, what fun just to be me!

    hope you like them :)
