MemberNo but I was talking to someone who has tried to book a table twice but it was fully booked. I think there are doing a phased opening system and only have 1/3 of the covers then normal untill they sort out teething problems.

InactiveI was there on Friday for lunch, have to say the place looks really good, real light and airy but the food and service werent great.
It wasnt packed but everyone seemed to have to asked for a menu rather than be given a menu when seated. We ordered the crostini’s recommend these georgous. We waited 35-40 mins before we got our mains which is really bad as its lunch and we had ordered 2 salads and 1 pizza. I got the Tuna salad, really nice,Chicken Caesar was a disgrace. It came down with a few letter leaves, dry chicken and no dressing, no parmasesn or tomotoes. A few people had ordered it and everyone complained. Pizza was ok.
We didnt stay for coffees as we were there over an hour and had to go, got the bill were overcharged on the crostini and underharged on everything else.
Liked the place, hope maybe if we go again when the have settled in things will be better 😕

ParticipantHi girls, well we tried out romanza last night and while the food was nice the service was terriblely slow.
we got our table and were handed the menu, about 20 mins or more later i had to call the waitress to tell her we were ready to order. it was a while after we ordered when the drinks appeared. after dinner i asked for dessert menu and 10 mins later it arrived, i ordered and it took about half hour for it to come, mind you it was delicious, it was chocolate and hazelnut brownie and i am convince it was made from cadbury chocolate. yum.
i wouldnt go rushing back to it. maybe its just teething problems. give me the pizzeria, bella atina or sorrentos anyday 😆

MemberI went last weekend and it was lovely. We had a 7:30 reservation and I think that helped as the place didn’t fill up until 8 or so. I didn’t have any trouble with slow service, but it did seem to get hectic when we were leaving. The food was very good and the prices reasonable.
Drogheda needs this place!July 21, 2008 at 10:57 am #64236Petulia
MemberMyself & my husband went a couple of weeks ago and the service was atrocious! So bad in fact I don’t think the waitresses had ever waitressed before and it didn’t look to me like they were getting any sort of guidance at all.. I had to ask for water 3 times and the 2nd time I asked the manager… We were sitting quite close to the front desk and at one point they received a phone call, a reservation request it sounded like, and there was a big commotion because they couldn’t find a pen..
As well as this I found the food wasn’t great at all – just OK and I have to say it is such a pity because the restuarant itself is lovely, really well done up and there is a nice ambience with the pianist playing away in the corner – Not enough to get me back though I’m afraid. I agree 100% with ed1 give me Sorrento’s or the pizzaria any day..!!July 25, 2008 at 6:59 pm #64368Moonflower
MemberI went last Friday evening & have to say the setting is absolutely lovely, felt like i was on Sex in City & in a piano bar in New York…wonderful for 10 out of 10 for atmosphere
Food….was very nice but oh so garlicky so would advice they lay off garlic slightly..bit too much garlic…
Service, yes we had to wait for a few late arrivals but the staff were so keen to help that couldnt fault service….and even in establised restaurants this happens…
Can honestly say after trying all other Italian restaurants in Drogheda, this was service with a smile & our custom was not taken for granted like some of the others…
Would go back again for sure….

MemberMyself and hubbie went here last night. Food was disappointing and service not great. The first two courses came really quickly and close together, but then for desert we had to call them twice over to remind them. Maincourse had seabream which was fine nothig special but at least I had some potatoes and cherry tomatoes with this course as my huusband ordered seabass and literally thats all he got on the plate apart from some lemom and thyme!! I ordered chocolate brownie with ice cream, which when it finally arrived was like trying to cut into a solid piece of muck! It was supposed to be served warm with the ice cream but wasnt warmed at all – was afraid to send it back as it took so long to finally arrive in the first place. Husband had cheese plate which again took ages arrive and then same desert which unlike mine arrived a little warm which made all the difference. Both had crabcakes to start – but couldnt taste any actual crab only potatoes. Atmosphere was very lively if not a little loud with lots of large groups – piano player wasnt a great singer but fine as a backround. Wouldnt be rushing back but it does as a change. Bill came to 150 euro for two which included one bottle of red wine at 54 euro.
