MemberJust had my first "school might be closed" text of the season re Tullyallen NS.
Paths slippy, icy, we dunno what will be like in am, Principal will review then, was tone of message.
LISTEN TO LMFM IN AM WAS BIG ADVICE, so am guessing the like is the same for some other schools too, listen out…

Memberthe roads arent that bad… yet!!!
Some callers on the Radio today were saying their kids schools didnt start untill 11am so the frost and snow would clear a bit

MemberThe roads in Drogheda were fine today, really no need to close the schools.
Seemingly it is predicted the weather is suppose to be like this (or similar) on & off for the next three months, so i think its a bad sign if we are closing schools already this winter.
God, we really need to start learning how to cope when the weather is bad. A bit of bad weather & Ireland just shuts down.
Things are bad enough without our kids also missing out on their education.
The priority should be keeping the roads clear so everyone can get on with their lives regardless of the weather.

Memberi seen the gritters on the road at 11am this morning! 1/4 inch and we stop… but some of the drivers cant feckin drive!!!! Driving too close to each other, too fast and like the STUPID BIDDY who nearly took the side out of my car today, lashing on her brakes at a red light, she skidded straight through the junction and nearly took the side out of me, i took off Thank God, it was close!!!
What do we do, home school for 3 months?November 30, 2010 at 1:05 am #105472nickysinglemum
Memberi would not send my daughter to school in that weather we don’t have a car and have to walk she is not sitting in school all day with a wet uniform then she get the flu and be off then for another week because of that. my garden is like a ice rink so are the paths and the roads in my estate no gritters up here.
