We came across this place while on a family trip to Co Galway and were amazed by it. Its basically a large forest with walkways and a stunning lake but its so enjoyable to visit. There is lots of wildlife to spot; from deers to butterflies, to frogs, to squirrels to birds of many varieties.

There are trees to climb, blackberry bushes to pick from and a beautiful lake i the middle of it all.

There are toilets and a picnic area and I would recommend bringing a packed lunch, as there is no cafe there (they really should put one in, I reckon it would do very well)

Our kids loved it. they climbed, ran, discovered, played and had a great time in the fresh air.

We drove to a nearby shop and bought sandwiches and came back to have lunch there too. It was just so nice and the air was really crisp and clean.

    Would definitely go back, fab.
