    One Family Links: enabling connections

Launch and opening by Minister for Children & Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald TD at 10.30am sharp

Date: Thursday 9 June 2011 Time: 10.15 am until 6pm

    Venue: Coach House, Dublin Castle

Do you want to participate in a networking day for people who work in the areas of family and parenting supports for one-parent families? Then the One Family Links event is for you!

It’s free to attend and learn about best practice, what services are available locally and nationally – and how you can facilitate your professional development. You can come for the whole day or just drop in to hear the speakers that interest you.

There is a minimal charge if you want to take a stand* – by doing so you can showcase and demonstrate your services and disseminate information about what you do. All participants receive a One Family Certificate of Professional Development.

Minister Fitzgerald will launch the event, as well as our Family Communications – Coping with Family Life and Communicating with Teenagers manual and the evaluation of our Training Links pilot in conjunction with the Family Resource Centres in the south-east.

As well as a fantastic range of information stands, there will be a range of expert speakers all day including:
Gordon Jeyes, HSE’s National Director of Children and Family Services; Dr John Sharry, parenting expert and guests from the Teen Parent Support Programme, MRCS, the Family Mediation Service and many more…

The One Family Links event is a national programme that will:
    • connect you to leading and pioneering speakers on parenting and family supports
    • provide you with a services trade fair and InfoBuzz sessions
    • give you an opportunity to promote your services to support those parenting alone and sharing parenting.

*Cost: there is no funding in place for this event and the costs for taking an information stand are:
€25 for Community and Voluntary Agencies.
€50 for Partnerships and Statutory Agencies.
    €200 for Private Sector Services.

Final programme to be confirmed on Wednesday 1 June, contact us for more info or see http://www.onefamily.ie or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

To book a stand or to let us know that you will be attending please email: info@onefamily.ie or ring 01 662 9212. Many thanks from the One Family team.
