MemberA friend of mine rents a house and is neighbours from hell……… They are loud the whole time whether its music or shouting from both inside the house and outside. They smoke in their garden the noise seriously I would go mental. There kids have been terrising her aswell kicking footballs that hit off her windows and frightening her little one which is 3 a little dote bless her so quiet. She rents but her landlord doesn’t care. I want to go over and make more noise but she is afraid of what the outcome will be because its just her and her daughter. Anyone got any ideas.

MemberRing the police…. its a very very sorry state, but i have heard this same story a million times over the past few weeks/months. I think one of the problems is that there are countless empty properties and if a landlord has a tennent they want to hang onto them regardless of how they behave, they would rather have noise and rent coming in, then no tenents and a property that most likely mortaged to the hilt and in negative equity…. many tenants now know they can behave like animals and get away with it.
Other then the garda i dont know what she can do…January 15, 2011 at 8:51 am #107756Fabienne
MemberFisrt try to approach them toask them to be less noisy.
Then next time the football reach her, I’ll take it away.
Then I’ll ring the gardai, as often as necessary, they’ll have to come.
If they are arguing, just say you’re scared (for you or them, it could be a case of domestic violence), they’ll come.
Do it for each row after 10pm inside or outside or each very very loud row even during day time, reporting suspected domestic violence.Wish the best,

MemberAlso vital to keep a written record of what happened & when. No point saying ‘they are always this or that’ or ‘often this happened…’. Be specific:
Mon, Jan 17. 9.15-11.27 Played music on max volume. Woke child. Approached 4 times to turn music down. Refused each time. Verbal abuse – called me a bitch. Threatening language – said they’d ‘get me’ etc etc.
I know it sounds extreme, but if at some stage your friend decides to take action, this kind of record is wht she needs, or she’ll be starting from square one.
Also, as far as I understand it, to ‘put someone in fear’ is an assault in this country. They don’t actually have to cause an injury. So if you are afraid, acrime hasbeen committed & the guards have to act

MemberShe has approached them but she just got abuse.
Pookie2 thanks for that adivce i will go over to her today and say it too her. My heart goes out to the poor child she won’t even go out to play in the front garden she is afraid of the little feckers (the kids)
she did ring the guards but it was the morning after and they said they couldn’t do anything about it.
I want to go over to her house on a school nite and make loads of noise see how they like it…..
thanks 😀
