Open to anyone, its 5 euro to enter. I’d say parking will be a nightmare in the village, I would suggest people park behind Tesco, it only 2 min walk from there.

2010 National Sandcastle Competition Details

This years event will take place on Sunday the 27th June, at Bettystown Beach, Co. Meath.

Entrants have a choice between entering the Sand Castle or Sand Sculpturing Competitions.

Sand Sculpturing Competition:
Entrants can begin sculpting at about 10am and can work until judging takes place at 15.30pm. Entrance fee of €5 per person with a maximum of 4 per team. This year guidelines and specifications for sculptures will be available on the day and from this website in advance of the event.

Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize: 500 euro
2nd Prize: 200 euro
Third prize: 100 euro

Sand Castle Competition: Categories include under 5 years, under 8 years, under 13 years and 13 and over and of course,

Family entries. A celebration cup will be presented to the overall winners.

Entrance fee of 2 euro per person applies and entries must be registered by 2pm for judging at 3.30pm.

Results of both events will be announced at 4pm.
