ParticipantThis week my Dog has taken sick and literally has to be carried around and my Husband two days later came down with flu. So I’m a veterinary nurse, human nurse, mother, chauffeur, cook and bottlewasher.
I’ve had to move into the spare room, because I put himself into isolation just in case (I think he’s been lucky and avoided the Swine version, but just to be sure to be sure) I can’t sleep because its too bright – note to self black out blinds needed in there and I have a horrible feeling that the School Bus won’t arrive in the morning because my particular road is like a sheet of glass.
Anyway thats my little sob story, I think the dog is starting to get better, himself definitely is – tried asking for a bed bath today (as if – I’m sterillising myself just handing him a tray of food) so hopefully the second week of January is going to be a bit healthier than the first for this house!

ParticipantI feel your pain 😆
Would rather nurse a sick dog though than a sick Husband….
Seriously men are so annoying when they are sick, its like everything stops…if we are sick everything has to carry on as normal, just dragging ourselves around, then collapsing at night 🙁 …well in my house any way 🙄
Hope you doggy is feeling better soon….nah not so much your hubby 😆 😆
Only joking hope he is better soon..for your sakes 😆

ParticipantLol….I love the "put into isolation to be sure to be sure" bit! 😆
HMM….shame on you, generalising that all men are like that! 😯 😆 😆
When I was quite incapacitated a few years ago (from leg surgery not man flu lol) dw said if I was looking for sympathy I would find it in the dictionary between "sh*t" and "syphallus"! 😆 😆 😆 (I was just stunned she knew what a dictionary was! 😆 😆 (just kidding 😯 )

ParticipantI thought you wrote you were decapitated 😆 must wake up…….
Nah no sympathy here either FC ..leg surgery or not 😆
I am a hard woman.
Sick men are no good to me 😆 😆 😆

ParticipantNah, I don’t look for or expect sympathy (mind you, if I’d been decapitated I think a little help would be in order!! 😆 😆 )
Now if I was one of the dogs………. 😉 lol

MemberYest, my dh made a gorgeous Sunday roast dinner, and I didn’t lift a finger (a rarity), just let it all come to me, lovely.
After meal, I looked at his smug face, then to the kitchen and realised immediately whyhe was so pleased with himself, had clearly been indulging in what he phsl at when we saw some comedian (Michael McIntyre perhaps?) going on about it recently, "kitchen fascism" – the clean as you go approach. Kitchen was pretty much spotless by time we had even started to eat.
Tonight, I realised why and how he had achieved this. He was sitting at table with dd assisting with hw this evening. I, meanwhile, was cooking dinner ( 2 diff 1s), unloading and reloading washing machine, retrieving, emptying and re-filling 2xluncboxes, settling ds to TTTE dvd, laying table and texting to arrange playdates at same time. Yes, kitchen a bomb when had finsihed, but about 8 jobs done to his 1.
Us women r r own worst multi-tasking enemies sometimes, I think…

ParticipantThat reminds me of the humerous email that went around about people coming to the bbq and telling the man how great it was coz he stood at the bbq andturned the food occasionally….despite the fact that the woman had shopped for the food, washed all the veg, prepared the salad, baked potatoes, dips and sauces, set the table, poured the drinks, greeted the guests, took the coats etc. etc. etc. and it’s funny coz it’s often true (guilty!..except for the shopping bit I do that.)
Although on Sunday, I did shred some duck fillets (after cooking them), cook noodles, stir fry some chopped onions, yellow peppers, diced cucumber, sweetcorn in a little seasoned olive oil in the wok, drain the noodles (then briefly rinse with cold water) and add to the wok along with the shredded duck, a little soy sauce, red wine and tablespoon of hoy sin sauce, stir fry for another 2 minutes then served, along with an italian salad of finely chopped tomatoe, extra virgin olive oil, chopped fresh basil, salt, pepper, and after mixing about put on top of "pinched" chunks of mozzerella and a final drizzle of olive oil again!
Damn! is it lunchtime yet?! lol
