Does anyone know of any clubs or groups that might suit a 4 year old boy?
Hes in a small preschool and doesnt have many little friends cos theres only 4 in the group!! And then he comes home and is stuck with me!! He loves being out and about but im finding it difficult to find something for him do in the afternoons, ( i work in mornings) We do the whole painting, play dough role play etc but he needs interaction with his peers.
Does anyone know what the set up is for GAA or Football clubs? what age does he need to be?
Dance and drama would sit, music ? anything!!Thanks JO
March 4, 2010 at 10:59 am #90791happymumblemumParticipantHi try Fit Kids in Mell its the best class around from what I have tried.
Its every Friday 4-5 ..parents must stay but its great, a good mixture of fitness/ hip hop/ games.New people start all the time.
Very experienced instructers… very important. Was actually at a new class last weekend in our village and I am sooo glad I had stayed to keep an eye.. as it was DISASTROUS in fact almost dangerous in my opinion. The two girls running it although lovely didn’t seeem to have a clue and had the kids running around a small area ( dangerous in itself) and then getting them to try and do the splits 😯 and telling them to practice at home.
Shocking stuff.
Also the girls decided that after 20 minutes that it was toilet time and asked who wanted to go to the toilet?? so of course they all "did" so another 20 minutes was wasted with them taking each child one by one to the toilet. Ridiculous.
It just shows.. a stereo and a hall does not make a "dance class".
We won’t be back even though dd enjoyed it, very amateurish. Just glad I was there to witness first hand. 😯

Some details that might help:
EMU – East Meath United have a team from 4year olds and up.
They run a very good nippers academy, great fun and the kids really seem to enjoy themselves.
Contact: Derek on 086 6810 701 or at the website http://www.emu.ieMarch 4, 2010 at 4:41 pm #90831MartinaParticipantTry your local Scouting Hall, I think the Beavers start at aged 4.
March 4, 2010 at 6:07 pm #90833JedtKeymasterPJ’s play centre in Balbriggan is very good, its only 5 euro and there is pottery, painting, adventure, car racing and lots of other activities. I really like it and my kids absolutely love it – its just off the M1 so really easy to get to.
Just one trip and he’ll be talking about ‘The Big Blue Slide’ for ages!!! 😆
