    Anyone know where I can get some Kirsch? (Cherry liqueur)…
    tried Aldi, Dunnes and Tesco…. no luck….

    Is this the stuff they use to make Kir Royale with champagne? Ask at some off licenses, they’re probably your best bet. There is a big off license across from the old town centre in Drogheda at the Haymarket, might be worth a look in there or even phone them up, I think its an O’Brien’s off license.

    For Kir royal it’s creme de cassis (blackcurrant).

    If you can’t find Kirsh you can always use a dry liqueur, depends what it is for.

    The only thing I have at home is Cognac, Armagnac and Calvados (apple liqueur) and Sake, if you want some let me know.

    I haven’t tried it yet….. it is sitting in the fridge, grinning at me … as my mother in law says that with Black Forest it is best to make it one day, let the Kirsch seep, and then eat it the next day…
    I may have been heavy handed with the Kirsch…. 🙄 😳 😆 😆 😆

    Chickpea…. ’tis simple….
    make chocolate cake with whatever recipe you like…. drizzle kirsch on each layer, put cream in between the layers… with cherries…. then cream over full cake…. more cherries on top, chocolate vermicilli…. and Bob’s your uncle! 😉 Quantities of Kirsch… I have no idea…. my mother in law is notorious for her "lack of measurements" 😆 …. so I have no clue. Though, in all honesty, she is the best baker I’ve met… 😉

    going to have to try and make it…i promised my nephew id make him a cake for his confirmation this wk end…think ill try this one…

    are you heavy handed with the kirche??? id be heavy with it….not sure if thats good for a comfifmation…maybe ill make two…. 😀 😀 😀
