The Lion who wanted to Love
September 27, 2010 at 11:18 am #101033JedtKeymasterWe read the kids the Ravenous Beast last night, its so silly they absolutely love it! Its one of their faves.
There are 2 little books by Anthony Browne called ‘My dad’ and ‘My mum’ and they are fab as well. We’ve had the ‘Dad’ one since our first baby 7 years ago and got the mum one last year and they are big favourites in our house too. There is great attention to detail in them. Really nice ones to have.
Was in Xtra Vision in Drogheda yesterday and they are selling some cute kids books for 1.99 or 2 for 3 euros. Some are Disney storybooks but some are books about things like ‘little and big’ and ‘left and right’ and other opposites
they are really cute and would make great ‘little friends’ gifts for the kids friends or as stocking fillers. Will be picking up a few of those this week!

September 28, 2010 at 3:11 pm #101158scole1MemberLIBBY – i just love kids books and have a huge range i always try and look for something that has more to the story and definately something that can spark conversation, i know especially in a group a book can go over kids heads or go down a storm…
so i love a mixture audio to allow kids to paint the picture in their mind and then the actual picture book, i feel audiobooks allow their little minds to expand beyond their reality and opens up wonderful conversations also when the see the book they too have something different to add to the story
