Is there any such thing as hypnobirthing classes in Dundalk / Co. Louth area? Have heard lots about it & would like to check it out…
November 17, 2010 at 9:22 am #104617Daisy37MemberPookie2, good woman, its the sane choice! I did it on mt 3rd baby and it was brilliant, much easier than my previous 2 births.
The best place to start is with a book called ‘The Better Birth Book’ its extremely well put together and is full of practical advice.
It has loads of great information in it. Also, check out http://www.doulaireland.com you can find out lots about it there too
The person you need to speak with is Tracy Donegan and she is the birth expert on here, click into ‘Ask the pregnancy & Birth’ expert, in the little box on the top left here and you can get in touch with Tracy directly
Good luck, let us know how you get on with it!
November 17, 2010 at 9:46 am #104618TracyDoneganMemberHi Pookie,
I teach GentleBirth hypnobirthing weekend workshops in the City North Hotel every month except December. My next workshop is coming up on Nov 27 & 28. It’s a wonderful way to prepare for your baby’s birth and really enjoy your pregnancy without any anxiety around the birth.
Have a look at http://www.GentleBirth.ie for more details or give me a ring and we can chat live.
Daisy – thank you for the recommendations 😀

May 7, 2011 at 10:34 pm #112896Taylor5Memberi used a form of hypnotheraphy on the birth of my first, i only got to 7cm then needed a section, but up to the 7cm i didnt feel a thing, the midwives were saying "you have to be feeling that, its a massive contraction!"
I had no drugs, nothing and i didnt feel as much as a niggleMay 8, 2011 at 6:56 am #112898GentleBirthMumMemberGreat to hear Taylor – when I was in Singapore a Midwife told me about a caesarean she attended using only hypnosis back in the 80s. The poor Midwife was more nervous than the woman! (The Mum was trained by her obstetrician) 😀
