Ok, so I was out with some girls a few weeks back (don’t worry, it wasn’t the mumstown night out!) and we were talking about doing the wild thing.
I could not believe some of the things the girls were saying. Some said they only give in to their hubbies/partners once a month and some do it even less than that. I was shocked. First of all, do they not miss it themselves and secondly, how the hell are their fellas able to walk around with all that pent up inside them??
I thought my sex life was bad with 3 small children knackering me out but beside them I look like a nympho!! My hubby and I together 11 years and usually get to it 2-3 times a week and I thought this wasn’t great??
I was wondering, what is the average for couples who have kids and have been together a while.
How often do you do it? And lets face it, we all do it at some stage, otherwise there would be no Mumstown!!!

We now do it every second night. This was a decision after reading an article which stated that if sex takes a back seat in a relationship that the relationship will suffer. The article was titled "just do it" and they were advocating doing it every night, even if you did not feel like it. At the time that we read the article, we could go a month without doing it.
This works well for us. One night we have a cuddle and I know he is not expecting anything and I can relax in the cuddle. On the second night we do the wild thing as you so eloquently referred to sex. It may seem a bit predictable to some of you but I do believe that you need to put in a bit of effort when you are with someone a long time.
Our relationship has improved since we made this change. I feel much closer to DH and he is obviously less frustrated.

yes but scole you can get an excuss i’d be lucky to move at that stage of pregnancy
as for our sex life we have 4 small children under 5 so i guess its ok 😆 😳Joey,
With four children under 5, it is an achievement that you even have the energy to post on Mumstown. I can barely manage the two I have.
When they were little, sex was practically non-existent. Now that they are 6 and 8 and we have a little bit of space to focus on us and get back on track.

Thanks girls, I feel a bit better knowing I’m not that bad, 2-3 times a week seems reasonable enough.
Except for birthdays and anniversaries when we notch it up to twice a day (well, if we can get a babysitter that is!!!)
God im 2 embrassed to say were lucky if its once a month.We just seem 2 be by passing each other lately or to tired.We went away 4 romantic nite both asleep at 10 wot does that tell you 😥 😕
It’s so tough when you have had kids hanging off you all day I remember when d was small all you want come bed time is relaxation and your own space, it is tough to find a balance…
yeah there’s loads of babies happening around the town….defo a sign of the recession sky has been cancelled…..lol…..
