Hi,
We have just decided to book a few days away with the kids down the country but have been horrified at the prices quoted for 2 adults 3 kids and a baby. I have to book 2 rooms which is mad, plus the oldest is 7 so wouldn’t leave them in separate room anyway.
Surely somewhere caters for a family of our size at at reasonable price.
Plus kids club and pool would be great
.All suggestions welcome
The Quality Clonakilty has large family rooms or you can hire a house on the grounds and have access to the facilities – though the house is expensive.
The Breaffny Woods resort – caters for families up to 4 children. They have packages for the summer 4BB1D – 574euro for the 2nd week in August. This has a swimming pool and kids club 4+.
Hi, we had a house in the grounds of Qualiity inn in Clonakilty and it was really good…plenty of room in the house and a picnic table in the back. so much more space for a family than a hotel. The hotel is so family friendly with a play centre for toddlers and over 4’s…kids loved it.. lovely pool. family resturant with kids dinners for only 7 or 8 euro from what i remember..and a cinema right next door.At night there was always a children’s hour till 10 with disco or music and my two had such a good time. There is a model train village in Clonakily which is a lovely day out.They also have appartments as well as houses..think we paid around
750 for a full week in May but they do mid week specials also at least on the appartments…good luck!!We stayed in Ballinasloe last year in Carlton Shearwater and it was fab; we had a large interconnecting room with loads of space for us and our 4 kids. They had a lovely pool, kids clubs in the morning and evening (they even fed the kids their dinner!) and we got a river cruise up the Shannon as part of our package.
The pool was lovely and the spa was nice too.

They have hotels in Westport, Tralee and Kinsale too if any of those locations take your fancy.
