International Assistance Dog week will take place from the 4th – 10th of August and Equipet are delighted to be hosting a sponsored walk, to raise vital funds for Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI).

The 4km sponsored walk will take place on the historic grounds of The Battle of The Boyne Estate, Oldbridge on Sunday 11th at 3pm.

Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland is a national charity providing highly trained assistance dogs for children with autism and their families. These dogs are specially trained to provide safety, independence and companionship and to help transform the lives of children with Autism.

Since it’s founding over three years ago, AADI have placed thirteen assistance dogs and six companion dogs with families across the country. It takes up to 2 years to train each dog and the total cost of training is €15,000 which the charity covers through fundraising alone.

Walk and Wag promises to be a fun day out for all the family with competitions, spot prizes and goodies galore.

Walkers are asked to arrive at the picnic area by 2.45pm on the day and dog owners are asked to have all dogs on leads and to muzzle restricted breeds.

For more details on how to register and collect your sponsorship card drop into Equipet in the M1 Retail Park, contact info@equipet.ie or phone 041 98 07410.
